Florida has no state income tax.....I'm sure it's one of the main reasons he relocated here. Plus Marta wanted to be here too, rather than NYC.
Having been a rock drummer for 10 years, I can tell you that there are a lot of people who only love you when you're high, or "happenin'." Once you become a normal, non-addicted married guy, suddenly you aren't "exciting" any more. Not that that ever happened to moi :)

A *real* marriage changes people for the better, if they let it. No matter who it is. If you're unwilling to change, yes, I agree, you shouldn't be married.

He likely only announced it because it had already leaked---probably was in the legal works for weeks, if not months---and he didn't want the word coming from someone else.
Thanks for the tip. We don't have cats, but apparently a lot of the females he's been running into, even at work, have them, and he's starting to react quicker and more strongly. He used to have a little reaction if he was in a house with them, now it's if someone has cat hair on their clothing.
He doesn't see what Rush sees in his cats.
There are times when it is necessary as well as sad. We aren't usually privvy to the details, which is as it should be.

Marta may not be able to cook but I bet she can write a book about her life with Rush.

Don't remind - set up a romantic date and ask her what she thought about it. If she hasn't read it then just express your PATIENT desire that she read it...maybe you could both read it together and discuss. Discussion and communication is always good, if it's honest and tactful.

I am certain that Marta was responsible for slimming Rush down. She hired a cook who made low-carb (I think that was the approach) meals and made sure that Rush stuck to the regimen. So, he does owe her a debt.
One thing about being married to a man with a career like Rush's is that you have to be prepared to be a true caretaker. You have to meet his needs and create an atmosphere that allows him to relax in his private life, take care of his wardrobe and his other possessions, make sure that he is surrounded by the things he likes (favorite brands of items, etc), and provide activities he likes to do in his time off. You also have to keep yourself looking nice so you can socialize with his friends and make the occasional appearance with him. It's a calling, of sorts, and it takes real dedication.
Perhaps it's not something a lot of women want to do with their lives.
