He never, and I mean, NEVER speaks about his recovery. I know I am so involved with mine that the topic comes up in my conversation occasionally, and here on FR when a topic comes up related to addiction and recovery. Going to a meeting a day and calling my sponsor 1-2 times a day will put recovery in the forefront of your mind. Of course, it helps my sponsor is my bestest bud now. :o)
But Rush never speaks of it at all. Nor do I hear the language of recovery ever come from his mouth. It's quite clear to this addict that -- at the risk of taking his inventory -- he's not working the program. And you've got to work it to make it.
There are rare people who can abstain without working the program. I even know one or two. But they are NOT in recovery and NOT trying to get personal development or live their life by spiritual principles. Their choice, and one fellow I have a big resentment against, so I'm actually pretty cool with that one. ;^)
PS: I know, I know: "Resentments are like peeing your pants. No one feels it but you."
Thank you for your reply, Gracey.
Sure it does. Didn't you get the press release?
This is tantamount to an admission of engaging in a "fishing" expedition, which any judge with room temperature IQ would throw out in a heartbeat.
Ol' Rush could use someone who is on his side in this, not someone who only looks to him to be a cash cow for her and her kids. I would be suspicious of any woman who would become interested in the bombastic Rush only after he started making serious money.
I only hope he had an airtight pre-nup.
The microscopic piece of metal I read about got stuck in his arse which meant he was running away from the enemy.
Does this mean that she can be required to testify against him if there is any kind of court case brought against him?
Perhaps he's just trying to keep it private and out of his work? When he first returned from rehab, he did talk about the experience some. I thought he had changed quite a bit when I heard him use the word "enable" on the air. I could understand if he just didn't want the topic of addiction to consistently take over his show.
The article says 3 for both, but I thought Rush was married only once before...for 7-years.
Three, sadly... my parents divorced, then *both* remarried and divorced again. I was six years old for the first one, and both of them lied about pretty much every single detail for decades. That's why this "divorce is not a moral failure" BS doesn't fly with me - I know way too much about divorce to swallow that moral-equivalationist line.
Naw. It permeates your life too much. I can always tell another member of the Fellowship right away.
What did Bush have to do with this, and where does Hector the poolboy fit in?
Not trying to start anything, just reminding you that your experiences are your experiences.
Whoops....having fun yet? I love when someone besides me says something incendiary around here. I know your post seemed innocent when you wrote it.
Yep, I'm divorced too and it was both bad judgement and a moral failure and ALWAYS hurts the children.
:>)
If they were the only example, then I wouldn't generalize. But they're not. What happened to me happened to over 50% of the people I knew as a child. You think we didn't compare notes?
Here's a mental exercise for you: try to come up with a divorce scenario that is not dependent on a moral failure by one party or both. (It can't be done - the breach of a solemn oath itself is a moral failure.)
Like the time I suggested that Bush was not conservative enough for my tastes.
;^)
Eureka!, I agree emphatically, that is paramount.
*watch out for flying pigs in Fairfax and I'll keep an eye out down here in Rube Nation.
Precisely my point. We don't know that Rush is the person with the moral failure in this scenario. You do concede that a split CAN occur with one party being largely blameless?
Yeah, but three times?
Mine either...but in the end my pragmatic side when out usually
