President Bush's re-election campaign has begun a concerted effort to divide the Democratic Party by forcing its congressional candidates to either embrace or reject Sen. John Kerry's liberalism.

"This is one of the huge stories of the campaign," said Bush campaign manager Ken Mehlman. "You're going to see a lot of efforts by Republican candidates and by the campaign to ask where people stand."

I believe he forgot to mention Gore's loss of West Virginia and a number of those other states, most probably because of his embrace of gun control.

I have doubts about the wisdom of this stratergy.

It might help re-elect GW, but it helps Democrat Senators get out of Kerry's implosive radius. This doesn't help us get that filibuster-proof majority we need in the US Senate.

I'd rather keep our enemies in our sights and close to the implosive charges so that when they ultimately go off (the coming Kerry implosion should hit in October) they will get taken down in the aftermath.

If the Democrats have to run away from Kerry, all the better.

I'd prefer the situation where they would WANT to very much dissacociate themselves from Kerry, but where we tie them to Kerry with every ad in all media, every stump speech, and every interview.

This is the tried and true method. I mean for decades if not longer. I've seen it work many times. It's chapter one stuff.

I don't get the wisdom of allowing these guys to escape. But, it seems to be the way we do it these days. This is the Falluja strategy as applied to domestic politics.

This is all well and good. I have said for weeks, however, that the B/C '04 Campaign should flush Kerry out on where he stands on two things: 1.) Reparations for descendants of slaves. This is a lose/lose situation for him. If he is for it, he alienates millions of Indys and Dims. If he is against it, many blacks will stay home on election day.
2.) Gay Marriage - A Jewish journalist said tonight on a program on C-Span that if Bush pushes the gay marriage issue, he should win 55% of the vote.

I still say a great bumper sticker would be: "Visit Massachusettes. Home of JOHN KERRY AND GAY MARRIAGE."

So making the case against liberalism might also include exposing over 50 democraqt members of congress/senate who are members of the Democratic Socialists of America, http://www.dsausa.org/. This small fact alone would turn the election should it be made a true campaign issue.

"WHERE DO YOU STAND?" With the Democrat Party whose membership in the "Democrat Socialists of America" also represent 25% of their membership in the Congress.... And that the most easily identifable LIBERALS in America are Card Carrying Members. ?

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. DSA's members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics.

Gun control was his biggest issue in Tennessee, along with being a high taxer...we were fighting the battle against a state income tax, thankfully prince al the bore and it both lost.

I've made sure the three biggest talk radio host in Tennessee have all the gun control, more taxes news items on hanoi john that are FR posted!

Along with sending them to my email list, who then in turn send them on.

"Everybody always makes the mistake of looking South," he said. "Al Gore proved he could have been president of the United States without winning one Southern state, including his own."

I guess "the expert" did not notice the 2000 electoral vote reapportionment. This gives Mr. Kerry an even larger headache.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but all the rats who are members of the DSA, which now calls itself the Progressive Caucus, are in safe, if not gerrymandered, seats in the House of Representatives. As for as being in the Senate, I believe only the late Paul Wellstone did it as an open member of the DSA.

Scroll down for members

Scroll down to Minnesota
