Is it Gephardt?

Labor leaders believe union friend Rep. Dick Gephardt has the inside track to be Sen. John Kerry 's vice president. We hear that AFL-CIO execs say it's a done deal.

Suggested campaign slogan

Kerry-Leopard - Changing their spots daily just to survive... It's a jungle out there.

the dullard that won the nomination

The dullard hasn't won the nomination yet...The Klinkster's book is coming out, and he and Her Heinousness will be dominating the media for the next few weeks. It'll be No. 1 on the NYT best-seller list, he'll be on ALL the talking head shows (except Brit Hume or O'Reilly).

Not to mention the little brouhaha in Beantown with the police union - havta wonder if the Clintons have their tentacles all over THAT.

Awesome! More stories about his Republican father's milk truck driving days. Maybe we will hear a story of a couple of rich men who want to give up their tax cuts as well.

Missouri is not a done deal for Kerry if Poco Loco Dickey is on the ticket. Remember how Dick was going to get all of the union vote in Iowa and they organized for him? He came in fourth.

Like Kerry he voted for the Iraq war. This will alienate some Democrats that are already holding their nose with Kerry. With Gephardt the stench will be so bad, they will not be able to take it and bolt to Nader.

I don't think the Nation is ready for a vice president without eyebrows.

Gephardt makes Kerry look like Mr. Personality.

I knew it would be tough to find a VP candidate who wouldn't overshadow John, their little ray of boredom. I think they managed it.

In a way, it makes a strange sort of sense. John rarely if ever spends any time with his fellow Senators on Capitol Hill. Dick rarely if ever sees his constituents in MO. John won't show up, Dick won't leave!

You are right. Gephardt has not been a state-wide candidate before.

there is NO WAY kerry doesn't actually get the nomination.

klinton isn't out to do him any favors, but there is simply
no possible way that anything bizarre is going to happen and
someone other than jauques gets nominated.

the convention is purely formalistic these days. the decision
was made in the primaries.

If this really happens, you have GOT to send that in to the RNC. And to Hannity, Rush, and the others. That's a winner.

I think this is a good choice...for Republicans.Gephardt is not totally over the edge, unlike a lot of Democrats these days. But he's old-school Democrat - pro-labor, caring for the working man, etc, and that just isn't the soul of the Democrat Party these days. I think the real core of the Democrat Party is the rage of Dean, the hatred of Judeo-Christian America, gay marriage and the ACLU. Just my opinion

I think Gephardt is an uninspired choice.

This is good news, Gephart is a tired old fart. Gephart and Lurch would be the embodyment of "dull". I think Edwards would have been a better choice, at least he has a little Charisma.

Gephardt was popular only in the Greater Saint Louis area. The rest of the state hated his guts

Exactly, and if the state votes the same way it did before Missouri will land on Bush's lap.

Oh, I really hope this is true. A stagnant icon of Old Labor, who may not even help them win the big MO.

Bring it!
