In the last few years, several excellent books have been published about media and polling bias. I highly recommend "MOBocracy" and "Coloring the News." "MOBocracy" is specifically about how polls are used to manipulate public opinion, not measure it. After I read it, I could no longer blindly trust any poll, whether or not it was favorable toward my candidate or issue.
And in other breaking news, the sun rose in the east today and water is wet.
Bump!

As far as I am concerned, all polls are Push Polls as the nature of the questions and the limited responses you can give limit the choices to a preselected few answers. That said, I am on Zogby's list and get hit at least once a month, and I answer it honestly. They do track responses, so if you want to 'game' their system they will catch on, and they tell you that up front. I think their allowed responses to their questions are too simplistic all around. If you want to join in, just pop into Zogby ^ and sign up.
