I did catch it and now Imus says Arkin doesn't belong on television. I didn't know who he was.

The book thing was just Imus trying to show he could get an autographed copy from the publisher - I think.

Stephanapoulos later said that Clinton's first chapter deals with the Monica issue. We'll see.

There were no facts in this story. If you take out energy and food in the CPI number yesterday it is at .02% This is what we are up against. Lies and false facts. I realize it is nothing new, but it seems more brazen these days.

I am currently reading a biography of Hitler. The effect is chilling because the National Socialist Party was growing well, until the economy began to improve after Germany signed a disavowal of violence/war treaty and the WWI reparations creditors eased up. Hitler's party then began to grow less and actually lost representation. They hoped and prayed for bad times. Then the Depression came along, and millions of Germans were thrown out of work. Hitler was saved!

What the Left Media is doing is the same thing, by the same people, again.

LOL - you nailed it! Could anyone be more annoying than that "edgy" young woman moaning about "the depression"?

BTW, if I may, Imus just asked George Stephanopoulos who he will have on his program Sunday. George said he is trying to get Michael Moore.

Betcha the next few months will be a lot of free airtime for the Corpulent One and his snot-slinging rants about Bush. The plus side is that maybe his own vitriol will turn people off long before his film does.

Talk about editing.

First Armor Division had some journalists show up in Germany and do a story that ran on TV. They interviewed several people and went through the housing areas. I think it was MSNBC? They interviewed the PA for one of the Infantry battalions in Iraq who had to return to Germany for medical reasons and was slated to go back to Iraq. When asked what he feels like having to return to Iraq he told them that he had a sense of honor being part of the unit and wanted to return home to Germany with them after finishing out the tour in Iraq. They asked him the same question no less than 4 times in different ways. Obviously, he didn't know the right answer. However, after searching around they eventually did find someone who complained and wimpered. Of course all got equal coverage since that will display the real mood and spirit of the soldiers. That's the fair and ballanced news you recieve from some news agencies. It's complete BS! Total utter garbage that is so far skewed that if you know the truth and tell it, people won't even believe you.

What's the "Today Show"? Is it foreign?

After watching, some might indeed assume it is an English-language version of Al Jazeera, or perhaps of Agence France Presse.

But seriously, my posts often engender responses along the line of yours: "what's Today?", "who's Katie Couric?", "why do you bother to watch that crap, I only watch Fox," etc.

As I invariably respond, I watch out of a combo of masochism and the belief that it's worthwhile to keep track of what one of the largest and (sadly) most influential liberal media outlets is up to.

I take it from the Larry Kinney piece just completed on the Imus program, Clinton will be interviewed by Dan Rather for the full hour of 60 Minutes. Kinney (Jack Nicholson) said you would need a, " . . . set of water wings and a full body condom . . ." in order to watch it.

William Arkin sounds like a dem operative...His comments during the war were awful. He was always negative...always.

William Arkin sounds like a dem operative...

It became blatantly apparent during the segment that's he's just another Bush hater.

After IMUS made a comment like That's why MSNBC can't get ratings. They've gotta wise up over there.

I predicted this six months ago. As the hard economic figures look better and better, the 'Rats are going to start playing up economic stories that cannot be verified by looking at actual figures. These stories will be:

1) The squeeze on the middle class
2) The large number of "underemployed" - those with jobs that pay too little and do not fit their skills
3) The large number of "overemployed" - those with more than one job

Since these numbers are not compiled by anyone, they will be "forced" to rely on anecdotal evidence to support their stories...

Your analysis leaves me shaken - not stirred!

But seriously, I agree - anectdotal stories such as the one on this morning's Today Show inform us of nothing - except the political biases of the people who create them.

Imus has on Fineman, Alters, Biden, McCain, frequently and says he's for Kerry...I think they all better wise up. I watch Imus at times....and then go on strike for long periods...Fineman was singing hymns to little Ron after the slam aginst Bush subject came up this week...Sickening.

I considered Imus morning entertainment and used to listen while doing other things...watching if something sounded "worth it"...

The liberals would have us tax (and punish) the producers in order to subsidize the consumers, and then they get to walk away feeling good about themselves after they've essentially collapsed the economy by their misguided feel-good policies.

Of course, all that is important is how the liberals get to feel about themselves, not whether their policies really helped anyone.

in doing so, Old Media just digs their own grave a little bit deeper. You see --actually you don't, but---they are smarter than us. They underestimate their viewers at their own peril.

Little by little, they offend viewer after viewer because Old Media's view of reality does not match what most of America sees daily. They are seen as liars, plain and simple.

You would think they would get tired of this technique.

Any good news when a Republican is in office must be balanced with bad news (and there is always bad news if you look hard enough).

When a Democrat is in office, it is always good news, or if they have to report bad news, they pair it with something negative about the Republicans.

I think the "Emporer Has No Clothes" moment will come for the Old Media when Katie Couric et al are caught cheering as bombs are going off just before the election this fall. They really are that desperate that they will see terrorist ops leading up to the elections as a good thing. They will not be able to disguise their glee...
