Had a solicitor from the NY Times this evening. Asked her if that wasn't the paper where that guy made things up. She didn't know his name but had heard about it. Did I want to try a subscription.
Asked her whether the editors weren't supposed to watch that sort of thing. She thought they would, did I want to try a subscription.
Asked her how would I know if I could believe anything they printed. She gave up.

It kinda sucks that people don't realize there is alternative newspaper beside LA Times LA Daily news is good paper and Orange County Register which kinda sucks it not available in every hood

My wife likes the LA Slimes, she reads it I pay for it.

They didn't deliver the paper. And then a few weeks later I got a bill for a paper I don't subscribe to. The bill was for the period of May 2003 to May 2004.
They are desperate and are trying to re-activate long dormant subscribers by hook or by crook -- the latter be the more apropos term. They are trying to trick old subscribers in to either subscribing again or paying them for nothing.
They call all the time and are apparently really desperate. Each time I tell them I will subscribe on the day they use the real term "illegal alien" and they write a story that Bill Clinton raped Juanita Broaddrick. I don't think we will be seeing the SLIMES in my driveway ever again.
