It used to be quite typical, I'd hear callers to a radio station who mentioned another host, get bleeped out. WWDB in Philly used to make a habit of it.

Sheesh. What a cheesy outfit he must manage, bleeping out part of a Presidential speech over such an inconsequential issue.

...the difference being that this was speech by the POTUS. Pettiness and arrogance.

"I'd certainly agree with that. But for crying out loud, it was a brief mention of our competition," Duckworth said.
Exactly why it was so petty for you to bleep it out.
Of course, as a private company, I suppose he has every right to do so, but his listeners have every right to complain.

KTTH mentions Kirby Wilbur, the morning guy on KVI, all the time.
I'd switch from KVI to KTTH completely if it wasn't for Kirby, John Carlson in the afternoons and Tony Snow at nights. they also use FOX News while KTTH uses ABC (icky).

It's not censorship if it's not done by government.

CNN did something similiar during the skydive of President Bush #41. They refused to mention Brit Hume by name...rather referred to him as a correspondent from another cable network.

Well, I'm sympathetic to the 23-year-old kid who had 7 seconds to make that decision. Now if the PD did this based on an advance transcript of the speech, it would be a different thing.

"Had Bush gone wobbly on Iraq, or worse, John Kerry?"And they wonder why people talk about liberal media bias. Sarcastic much?

I give KVI allot of credit for bringing conservative talk radio to the Northwest. My Father went from being a die-hard Roosevelt Democrat to a Republican by listening to Rush on KVI in the 80's. I was sad to see him and Medved leave KVI. I am not happy they would bleep the President, but they are in stiff compition with KTTH, which by the way may have Medved and Rush, but they also have the vile Savage, so they have their problems as well.
