Statement by Bush-Cheney ’04 Regional Spokesperson Danny Diaz Regarding Arizona’s economic recovery

WASHINGTON, DC— Bush-Cheney ’04 Regional Spokesperson Danny Diaz issued the following statement regarding Arizona’s economic recovery:

“The economy in Arizona continues to create opportunities for working families and businesses through job creation [and falling unemployment]. Arizona’s economy created 3,000 jobs in May alone and the nation added 248,000 new jobs in May. The president’s policies continued to strengthen job growth and have created an average of 257,000 new jobs each month this year.

“And while our economy grows, John Kerry continues his politics of pessimism by talking down the significance of Americans finding 1.4 million new jobs in the past nine months. The Massachusetts Senator’s rhetoric concerning fictitious doom and gloom scenarios ring hollow in the face of an economy that is strong and getting stronger. More companies across America are hiring more people at a faster pace, and economists believe this boom is part of a sustained economic recovery.

“The President believes Americans finding work is good for our country. John Kerry believes Americans finding work is bad for his political aspirations.”
