I actually believe that God is using him for a purpose. I don't excuse him for what he did, but he does seem sincerely repentant....

Don't parole him.
Period.

Execute him and let God sort it out.

If God can transform SOS's life, he can transform anyone's.

From my reading of the Bible, an accomplice to murder by the name of Saul had an encounter with God that changed him utterly. He took on the name Paul and spread the Gospel throughout the world.

That said, I wouldn't be particularly opposed to SOS being executed tomorrow for what he did....

let God sort it out

He will for SOS and for you and for me. I won't be particularly surprised if SOS spends eternity in God's presence. It may not be fair, but the gift of salvation is free to anyone who wants to receive it.

God's grace doesn't make a whole lot of sense to people who haven't experienced it....

You may be right. If he has found God, the better for him.

Oxygen thief.

More like tax dollar thief. Those are hard-earned dollars being taken out of the mouths of our families, by government coercion, just to keep this killer alive.

Essentially, he's changed his criminal behavior from murder to society-sanctioned robbery.

Berkowitz (Son of Sam): Don't parole me

Did his dog tell him to say that?

Why is he going to a parole hearing? They can't be seriously considering letting him out?

That's not his fault. That's the fault of the criminal justice system in New York State....

Well, he must have requested the hearing, but he didn't seem surprised or upset that parole was denied....

I did a little research and discovered that the parole hearings are set well in advance. Berkowitz has not requested the 2 parole hearings he's had and it appears that he doesn't consider parole an option....

People actually want to parole the "Son of Sam"? Not surprising considering Al Hussayen was let off the hook by a bunch of bleeding heart cretins.

The Justice System doesn't need reform. American Society does.

It may be mandatory. It may be the law that the prison board MUST give him a hearing.
