What bothers me the most is the language like : The EU will rank supreme, It demands unconditional support, etc.

Now the pro EU forces are telling everyone what they want to hear. "WE won't run your lives from Brussels.
I can just see it now, Lawsuits will be filed in the future regarding the interpretation of EU supremacy.

Guess in whose favor the verdict will be, considering that it is the appointed EU bureaucracts who will decide the matters?

"However, the European force won't have the same military power as NATO, and we will see a power vacuum in Europe. Therefore, your pessimistic view of Europe's future is not inconceivable. Actually, I am also afraid that the present development may well cause severe conflicts in continental Europe."

You know, forgotten in all this is Russia. Currently, Russia is in disarray, but historically there has been a certain paranoia about their borders.

I've already seen the attitude of the EC bureaucrats towards countries in Eastern Europe. I suspect that this arrogance will also manifest in an over-reach, and wake a certain bear to the East out of its hibernation. Not a good scenario.

I agree, and I think we saw it raise its head during the Ukraine election conflict. Note that the French tried to stay on the side-lines initially but the EU bureaucracy more or less forced the big EU members to take an active stance.

I think we will see more of this in the future.

(Think July 1914 and shudder - it wasn't the generals that caused the war, it was the diplomats...)
