Politics in the classroom KILL me.
I go to Vanderbilt University - not exactly a bastion of liberal thought - and my Representative American Literature class included Fast Food Nation, Going Up the River: Travels in a Prison Nation, Fountain at the Center of the World (a fictional account of the WTO protests in Seattle), and videos on the Seattle/Portland protests. Indoctrination at its worst. We read one book by Melville and one by Faulkner, and the rest was liberal screed written after 1984. 'Representative American Lit' my ass.
Thats awful. I am only about 10 years out of school and even back then we read Poe, Cooper, and Twain (and Faulkner and Melville) and while at Kansas when we took intro to American Lit.
=== Because they are all very rational intellectuals, campus gay activists fully understand the problems associated with espousing a belief in a) the gay gene, b) a growing gay population, and c) the Darwinian notion of survival of the fittest.
Very good.
I managed to slip in "survival of the fittest" when one of the young homosexuals debating me on the Alan Keyes show likened federal sex-ed to federal indoctrinition in the theory of evolution.
Glad you brought that up, says I ... =)
"Alcohol abstinence in the Russian American and Irish American communities"
"Solving the problem of Asian American academic underachievment"
"Men in the Military: the myth of upper body strength"
That's good to hear. I attended GMU for a semester in 1972 when it was little more than a community college. I'm curious, do you ever see Walter Williams on campus, or have you had a chance to take a course from him?
FYI...BTW, last weekend, my youngest daughter married a MSU alum...10 of his friends from school, and frat buds were up for the wedding..5 stayed with us for 4 days..because of a mix up by the hotel...was a blast...I forgot how much beer can be consumed by humans..was like having a frat weekend in my house...I'm still finding empties all around the hous and the property, including two in the rain gutter...
Did you find them right after you woke up or on the way down?
(((MS PING)))
BTW, if you want to see egregious male homosexuality on public display in MS, you needn't look any farther than the USM band. Y'know the Flag Corps girls most bands have? Well, USM has 3-4 extra fruity "f(l)ag boys" in their band. Seriously.
Please tell me this is not required reading for
a degree at FR.
Who is responsible for handing out degrees around here? It's certainly not me.
Hey dude! Speaking of culturally diverse universities and liberal indoctrination, Dr. McDonald's new book and Dr. McDonald will be featured on C-SPAN (2, I believe) on July 4 at noon and 5:00. You can call in and ask him questions during the 12:00 broadcast. Those would be Eastern times. On the one hand, it is a shame that they would have him on July 4. However, it is entirely appropriate.
I got two, but both came in plain brown envelopes with no return address.
I treasure them both.

Please no "steers and queers" jokes about MSU. Now is not the time. :-)
Why bourbon,
what jokes?
I've never heard one :)
I've got two of my daughters at State now. If State is no longer the bastion of sanity and patriotism I once knew, the ONLY stinkin' choice I have is take 'em out for year, move 'em to Kalifornia and enroll 'em at Fresno State.
I need some hope, boy! Don't dump this liberal at State junk in my computer!
You know, MSU had to drop that animal husbandry degree.. too many of the football players were confused about their obligations
Don't make fun of our flagboys, or one of them will come up there and slap you silly! :-)
" If State is no longer the bastion of sanity and patriotism I once knew, the ONLY stinkin' choice I have is take 'em out for year, move 'em to Kalifornia and enroll 'em at Fresno State."
Good Lord, man! Wipe that thought right outta your brain!
Go find a moon pie...you'll feel MUCH better. ;o)
