Someone on Don Imus' radio show suggested that Contreras might be having some pitching difficulties because his wife looks like Idi Amin.
I damn near drove off the road after hearing that one.

It looks like the homers are flying out of the park tonight. The Yanks have a phenomenal winning record in Camden Yards, by the way.
Contreras has no excuses now if he pitches poorly. If he stinks up the joint, Steinbrenner will be sending him back to Cuba, or at least giving Janet Reno a call! ;)

Irabu. He's the fat toad, right?!?

Maybe we can give Fidel Gabe White, but he's already been traded.

Wonder how much $$$$ was sent down to Fidel? None, it looks like so far, although I'm sure Contreras paid some bucks to the smugglers.

"Now, let's hope this will help his (supposedly) tremendous stuff ;)"Lol! Paging Jeff Weaver...

"Can you say Hidekai Irabu???"Now that was a classic...

"Maybe we can give Fidel Gabe White, but he's already been traded."(In Johnny Carson's voice:) I did not know that! 'Bout time, but WHO took Gabe White, his 8.00 ERA and his precious 9 lb. silver choker?
But maybe Fidel will take Heredia...
To: F16Fighter
I think the Reds took Gabe back for a couple of minors and yet another "player to be named later."
That nine pounder around his neck was worth more than his talent.

Wow -- The Reds actually took him
back??
"That nine pounder around his neck was worth more than his talent."
I see White has made both of us miss Weaver, eh? :-D
To: F16Fighter
Did you see Weaver the other day? He really looks like one of the guys from Raising Arizona.

Yankees even ate his contract. Got some AA kid with a slowing fastball (really must have wanted him gone) and with the deal Halsey was called up.
At least Gabe is with a good team, though the Reds will fade soon enough.

That "Game Over" guy was amazing, also.
Also, check out the closer the University of Texas has during the College World Series. Whoa!

"Yankees even ate his contract. Got some AA kid with a slowing fastball (really must have wanted him gone) and with the deal Halsey was called up...."When the Yanks eat your contract, they know your done.
The Reds are surprising thus far. Hey Lav, if the Marlins could do it, ANYONE can do it, but you need pitching. However if the Reds were needing pitching THIS badly, White is NOT an answer -- he's a question.
