We have proven ourselves infidels

In my opinion, either of these statements disqualify hollings from government office in ANY state.

But certainly in the great state of South Carolina.

SC is one of the most clear-minded places in the union. Just drove through there a few weeks back. I'll probably move there some day.

Infidels?

Do you mean faithless people who oppose references to God (such as in the Pledge of Allegiance)?

Do you mean people who support the ACLU in their battle against religion?

Do you mean amoral people who reject Biblical standards and tolerate, condone, and advocate homosexuality, abortion, pornography, and other morally degenerate acts or lifestyles?

Perhaps you mean Democrats. Check your party affiliation, Senator.

Typo - actually, fritz meant to say "We have proven ourselves imbeciles".

Of course, he was referring to the Senate.

I read Hollings' new piece.

Here it is condensed - "It's the Jooos!"

Funny, he must have forgotten about his "aye" vote on the Iraq Liberation Act back in 1998. And Gulf War I. And Kuwait how many other countries wanted Saddam out.

Sheesh.

At least "Anonymous" had the global perspective to tie us erroneously also with India and Russia's problems.

"In the war against terrorism, we’ve given the terrorists a cause and created more terrorism. Even though Saddam is gone, the majority of the Iraqi people want us gone. We have proven ourselves infidels." - Senator Earnest (Fritz) Hollings (D.,SC)

Fritz, if you want to call me an infidel for supporting the troops and the Commander in Chief in our efforts to thwart terrorism and keep the thug's fighting on their turf instead of ours, then I am proud to be an infidel.

It sure beats the hell out of being a has been politician who makes an ass out of himself by making idiotic statements that do nothing but show personal disdain for his country.

we’ve given the terrorists a cause and created more terrorism.

This is the new "cycle of violence" mantra that the liberal DemonRATS have carted out...that I heard Rush warn about. He played a whole mantage of liberals saying the same thing in one 24-hour period.

I goes something like: we ticked off the Muslims and deserved 9-11 and the Bush administration, by fighting terrorists are really ticking them off and creating more terrorists. All that Kerry and the rest of the Dems can offer is to turn the sovereignty of the U.S. over to the U.N. and try to suck our way back into the good graces of France and Germany and the rest of Socialist Europe.

We liberated Kuwait, but it immediately rejected democracy.

Well, the Royal Family certainly did... big surprise.

Also, I don't think Sen. Hollings understands what the word 'infidel' means, i.e., 'not of the faith'. We don't have to prove this, it's a given!

With more than 800 GIs killed, 5,000 maimed for life and a cost of $200 billion, come now the generals in command, both Richard Myers and John Abizaid, saying we can’t win.

Senator Hollings speaks for himself only. I can't imagine Myers or Abizaid saying any such thing.

Which makes ol' Fritz either a bald-faced liar or a senile old fool.

Perhaps both.

That kind of thinking on the part of a politician is not worthy of the state of South Carolina. SCers, in my experience, are really down to earth.

It's the old "if we'd have been nice, they wouldn't have blown up the twin towers" argument....only now, instead of wearing a tutu, it's wearing a liberal professor's dunce cap.
