VP's language 'not an issue' with Bush02:30 PM CDT on Saturday, June 26, 2004
ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE - Vice President Dick Cheney's curse in an exchange on the Senate floor is not a concern to President Bush, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Saturday.
"These things happen from time to time," McClellan said. "It's not an issue with the president." McClellan and the president were on Air Force One on the way to Turkey for a NATO summit.
Cheney used an obscenity beginning with "F" in an exchange Tuesday with Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., on the Senate floor where members had gathered for a group photo. Leahy said he was "kind of shocked" to hear such language on the Senate floor while Cheney said "I felt better after I said it."

Leahy acted like the Eddie Haskell p@ssy he is - slinking around later to suck up to Cheney and Cheney verbally decked him.
Men are running this country again and I for one thank God for it.
Leahy is shocked by that kind of language but not too shocked to takes sides against his country in time of need. Wonder how many beheadings it will take before a single dim-rat will give Al Qaida 1/1000th the abuse they give to GW and America each and every single day.
Gee, I wonder why they didn't ask Bush (or ANY ONE) about Flipper John's use of the same word to a Secret Service Agent?
Anyone have an email address for sissy boy, tattletale Leahy? I'd like to tell him
to quit getting his panties in a bunch when a real man puts him in his place.haha ! :^D
On this U.S. Senate website they show his addy as senator_leahy@leahy.senate.gov.
Yes ! BUMP !
Where's the rest of the story? Is this all the paper printed without letting us know what led up to the Fing Leahy exchange.
It is a pretty skimpy article alright. See my post #2 'supplemental'. It gives it all.
You nailed it, Eddie Haskell. I knew he reminded me of someone!!!!!
You got it right. They don't have brains or they'd be reporting the REAL news, like how POSITIVE we're doing in Iraq, that finally this country has a president with BALL... one who ACTS to protect our citizens.
Finally, we have a REAL president, not some wimpy Carter or Clintoon, who are lapdogs to their wives, who are sissies when it comes to protecting the citizens of the USA, who wish to give the safety and security of our wonderful, powerful country to the COMMIE UN.
Most of the press (except some on FoxNews) are a bunch of wimpy sissies with NO balls. Want to hear more reasons why???? :-)
Yes, it's skimpy and it's a lie, because it doesn't say what led up to the remark. Instead it's all about the remark. Geez. What fairness \\\\\\\\
Who is Clymer?
What's a "clymer?"
Also worth noting; while the phrase was uttered in Senate Chambers, the Senate had adjourned, was not in session, so Cheney did not even violate that often overlooked rule of decorum. One can only hope Leahy takes Cheney's advice and tries to limber up enough to perform this particular anatomical improbability, that should keep him busy with a personal trainer and out of trouble in the Senate.
Clymer = a**hole
Clymer = a**holeYep ! Cobra, there is a little story behind that.
During Election 2000, Bush and Cheney were on a stage campaigning or something. There was a lot of commotion and Bush was talking to Cheney. Bush looked at Adam Clymer (NY Times reporter, I think) and told Cheney that Clymer was a "major-league a$$". Cheney replied "Oh, yeah. Big time." That is also what folks are referring to when you hear Cheney called "Big Time" .....
Thanks for the clarification. Ever since I joined FR, I've always wondered what the expression meant.
You're welcomed. I found a long time ago that when I asked about something
here on FR, I can usually get good info pretty fast. :^)
hehehehe ! Yeah, I have gotten that a few times, too ! :^DI am of the school that believes that if I don't ask, I certainly may not find out.
Some people might say "There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers".
"Enquiring minds wanna know" :^D
