BAGHDAD, Iraq — An Arab satellite TV network broadcast a videotape Sunday showing a blindfolded man in military fatigues and said he was a U.S. Marine taken hostage in Iraq.
There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military, but the video showed a card identifying the man by a Pakistani name and as an "active duty" Marine. The man had a trimmed moustache and his eyes were covered with a white blindfold.
The Al-Jazeera network said the group claimed it infiltrated a Marine outpost, lured the man outside and abducted him. The station said the group demanded the release of all Iraqis "in occupation jails" or the man would be killed.
The group identified itself as "Islamic Response," the security wing of the "1920 Revolution Brigades" referring to the uprising against the British after World War I.

For some reason, the US government has a 'thing' with trusting and hiring the locals and foreigners rather than their own citizens.

It was hard for me to believe that someone drove hundrends of yards in the Marine base in Beirut and killed so many with a truck bomb, but they did. Some times soldiers drop their guard.
I have a feeling that the Rags took some casualties. We still have not done a thing about the 4 marines ambushed last week. In fact, we don't seem to be doing much to put the fear of Allah in them.
I don't know of a single soldier or sailor, with even a cursory introduction to the last chapter of the bible, who would allow a chip to be implanted in his/her skin.
Of course, I would never implant my children with one either.

Something doesn't fit........and a marine with a mustache?
Is anyone besides Fox News reporting this? Fox said AP and Reuters were confirming the story, but the story is only that they say they have a Marine. If this is genuine and it isn't a Marine, I still feel sorry for the guy, but if this is really a Marine, he might just be the only one over there right now with a moustache. I don't believe I've seen pictures of any Marines in Iraq with moustaches.
Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one suspicious about the moustache. I grew up near Camp Lejeune, I saw a LOT of military personnel, and the only ones who had moustaches were Navy, not Marines.
Not in this world the way things are going lately.
Marines are allowed to wear a mustache, it just must meet regulations, trimmed and neat, and not past the corners of the mouth.
That ID doesn't look like the one I have. Ive been out since 98 but it doesn't look right. Anyone help with this?

The Marines fighting over there must realize better than anybody what will happen to them if they are caught. You would think that they would fight to death once they realized they were caught. I think that I would rather get shot trying to escape than be used as a propaganda tool while having my grape sawed off with a dull knife. Of course I'm just a keyboard commando.
Now they are saying one Marine and a driver...still unconfirmed..picture on Al Jazeera(the local porn site for islamofascists and their sympathizers..) show one in fatigues. , one not. At least one is described as Pakistani.

The new ID is a "smart card," in a vertical format with a color picture.
Does the ID have a green stripe across the front? If so, the guy is a contractor (MILPERS IDs are white).
