Can any Freeper shed some light on this
A Buddy of mine was down in T. J. this weekend, That being tiajunna Mexico Upon his return as he was going though customes he showed his I.D. and that of his wife that was with him The customes Agent looked at a beeber like device. And asked which one of them had a stress test "He had one the week before He was stuned and asked how the agent knew and the agent said its best you dont know and he let them cross no big deal
Beebers bring tiajunna stress. Every customes agent would be stuned by this
Yup - he must have had a nuclear stress test, where they inject thallium into your blood. I guess the agents have some pretty decent geiger/gamma-ray detectors.
LOL
JEEEZ dead...LOL!
I know my beeber is stuned.
Now that's not nice. . . :)
I'm thinking the same thing and I'm also pretty impressed that they have small devices that are sensitive enough to detect it.
It's actually Tijuana.
No, I never heard of this.
It's a reasonable guess that the customs officials are looking for any nuclear material.
But I doubt that they are so ultrasensitive to be able to detect the miniscule amount of radiation people get during a stress test.
It's interesting info, though.
If they were looking for radiation, I am glad they are doing that.
Of course any terrorist worth his salt will go across the border at some other location, where there is no official border crossing, but we need to check everything.
You are so right.
Thats it, sometimes called a gamma scan. I had one of these done, it supposedly leaves some trace radioactivity for a week or so, I had no idea they could detect it though! This is interesting!
Do you mean a thallium heart stress test? And it's a week later? That'd be some geiger counter, but anything's possible. It usually flushes from the system pretty quickly, or so I was told when I had mine.
I remember a while back, some smuggler, who normally smuggled illegal aliens actually contacted the CIA or FBI or some US agency ( they probably had some "arrangement"), that 5-6 Middle Easterners wanted him to smuggle them into the US, and what got their attention, is that these men said, they wanted to keep something refrigerated in the process -- biological weapons???
There was no follow up on the news. (It was in a legitimate newspaper)
Don't go to the shower, yet. Tay stuned for more infermashun on border-beebers.
Linda Vester on FoxNews interviewed a guy yesterday who said Osama's group acquired up to 20 suitcase size nuclear weapons around 1996 and some of those have already made their way into the US.
Several of the raised alerts emphasized radiation detection devices in NYC and Washington, DC.
"Border-beebers" would be a stuning name for a punk band!
Yes, I heard of someone being pulled by authorities over locally when the radioactive material from his stress test was detected as he was driving by!
how about the rump rangers from the 80s
git yur beebers ouver hier.
I had that test,They told me not to use their bathroom after the test.
The nice thing about radiation is that it is easy to detect even minicule amounts of it fairly easily.
With that, I shal retire for the night with a big grin!
ROFL!
My husband had a stress test in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, and it is quite freaky. They bring out an actual lead-lined box with all kinds of radioactive symbols on it. They open it up, and the syringe is inside, that they then inject you with. Boy do you feel safe at that point!!!
I am surprised how little they cost.
I just did a search on Google and found a site, where you can get a pocket model for a couple hundred dollars.

Maybe people should be be encouraged to buy them, or the government could sell it to them at a reduced price, and if a lot of people had them, it would be harder for the terrorists to transport them in trucks or vans, or store them in a garage in a city, without someone noticing it.
Sleep tight, don't let the beebers bite.

Look out! It's indicating "0.025!"
I was in DC last week, went through many security checks and the only one that registered that I had a stress test was at the Supreme Court. They asked if I had recently had any chemo. I had the test 2 weeks before.
Wow...I'm impressed. I know several have been sceptical about the Thallium being detected. So am I the little device would have to be pretty sensitive, but I don't have an alternative explanation.
Interesting. I guess those detectors are really sensitive.
A relevant article:
Iowa to check for radioactive cargo (at truck weigh stations)

So I guess it's entirely believable, that they would have radiation detectors at the US-Mexico border.

Yes there are also Geiger counters at public landfill scales and one other excellent place I know of that I don't wish to disclose here , there may be a fly on the wall.
Why would you go to that rat hole Mexico anyway ?, I hate that friggen place! , nice people but the Mexican government is an oppressive and corrupt, evil dictatorship deserving of death and destruction ! .
Last time I was there, partying at nite on Rosarito in 1976 some federales came to rob us (collect fines for illegal camping) and shot our buddy who just retired from 3 years the Army . Now he is a paraplegic , he is now a psych counselor for the recently parlyzed....
Only way I will go back there is wearing camo with guns blazing
Screw Mexico ! I flip off every "peace" loving won't fight for freedom bastard with green and red flag in his window when i'm in the mood
Try eBay - they're about $20 last I noticed (it's been a while).
It isn't altogether unlikely. Thallium is pretty nasty stuff and does accumulate in body tissue. Several interesting murder cases have incorporated it - unless you know to look for heavy metal contamination it's a pretty sneaky way to kill somebody. A guy named Graham Young got away with it in the 70s until he started to brag about it.
Wow! That is one stuning Beeber!
Larry King had a fit when he went to a White House function (when Clinton was still around) and they would not let him in. Why? The Secret Service guys detected the nuclear material in his blood from a test of some kind. And this was BEFORE 9/11 ; so imagine what they are looking for now.
sheesh...would ya'll stop....okay...here's the voice of reason...he was messin' with you. You were so not on their mental list of terrorists. Reality is....these guys/gals on the borders DO profile....and I would not want them there if they didn't. You can tell them NOT to....but, that isn't going to happen. Profiling NEEDS to happen...and....it does....you can't ask someone to NOT profile when it is in their best interest (and that of our country) that they DO!
Though...I had a giggle or two reading the posts...
I had a stress test a few weeks ago and they used some chemical other than thallium. I have no idea what it was, but I could really see the blood flowing through my carotids on the instrument screen.

It is a detector of radioactivity. There have been reports in medical journals that people who got I131 (radioactive Iodine treatment of thyroid cancer or goiters) have been arrested in NYC subways...and the American thyroid association urges the doctors give them letters saying when they had the treatment.
When you get a "SPECT" scan or "Myoview" stress test of the heart, they inject a small amount of radioactive substance into you, and then if the heart muscle lacks oxygen, it glows on the scanner.
It would also pick up bone scans etc.
And, of course, it would pick up radioactive dust if you had been making a "dirty Bomb"
New fall TV show about customes agentes at the border:
"Leave It To Beebers"
Your tagline is stuningly funy. LOL
Beeb it all! You beat me!
Im stuned that I did.
Well, they'll stune ya with a beeber-like device
They'll stune ya, and it doesn't feel so nice
They'll stune ya when you're goin' through customes
They'll stune ya on your way back to your homes
But I would not feel so all alune
Everybody must get stuned.
Did he find one he liked?
I'll bet.
