This seems to be a great place.... Everyone is allowed to put forth their opinion on whatever the topic/topics are. Here is mine. I have yet to see this movie, even though I was asked to go, I chose not to. Chose is the key word. I have been on active duty for the last 18 years and like so many other things, Mr. Moore's movie means nothing. I don't know who backed the movie or if it was done with his own money, either way it was a waste of my time to see it. The movie to me is no better than the movie "Bowling for Columbine" which blames K-Mart for the action of those boys because they sold them the ammunition. I am still trying to explain to my children why those "bad men" stole our planes and crashed them into the towers. It has been almost three years and my 9 year old is still troubled by it. The people of America, not all, but most, seem to have forgotten what was done to our great nation. We are a super-power in this world, we don't make deals with terrorists, we stop them. 9/11 was not the first terrorist attack against the United States. They have been going on for 20 years. We let them nip at our heels and swatted them away, using the comforting thoughts that "WE" were too big to mess with. Well it has happened and will now continue. I have lost many personnal friends already in the war in Iraq and if asked to go, if it would bring home another safely I would do so. Maybe it would be my bullet that ends it all and we could all come home. My friends did not die in vain. We, who are in or were in the military are the ones who are keeping the "Bad guys" from walk into our nation. Everyone was devastated by the attack on the towers, we united, wrote songs, held hands and shed tears for those who died. Ask yourself, how long did your sorrow last? Are you still pissed that we were attacked? Do you not remember? Has it been so long already that it is going to take another attack to make everyone remember that there are groups in this world who want us to fall? Everyone talked the talk when we were attacked. Now, it seems like it is a burden just to remember what was done. Bush has done a great thing standing against terrorism where no others would. He is our President. You may not have voted or supported him in the beginning, but by not supporting his decisions and actions you make "Us" as a nation look weak. Elections are coming up, vote, let it be heard then. Win or lose you have to support your leader. By "Dogging" him and his decisions you weaken his powers and our borders. If we were to cow-tail now, what sort of a message would that send to all other terrorist groups. We, yes all of us who live here, by proxy, have declared War on terrorism. It has to be stopped. We live in a nation where everyone has the right to speak his/her mind. That is what makes our country so great. My band of brothers in all groups of the military are giving our lives to protect that freedom for everyone to enjoy. We are breaking down our own nations strength's with all the inner turmoil. If you don't like what we are doing here, go there and live for a while and see how good we really do have it here. This is all about a movie and someones opinion. If you don't want to see it don't go. I will not. I think anyone who "dogs" this nation is a chooch. Show me a better place to live. I can think of none and if you can... go. I like it here and will defend MY freedom, as well as yours when threatened, with my life. You all should feel the same. Support your troops and remember that we have been provoked for 20 years and finially attacked. How much can you actually take before you have to remember?

If Mr. Moore had done a movie on aliens coming to North America seeking human body fat he might have had more political impact and believability.

Great posting. Thanks very much. As a former officer, I am greatful for your continued service.

Even if some readers are not interested in debate, every American should know the following:
There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January.....In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq.
When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, consider the following ...
FDR...
led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.
Truman...
finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.
John F. Kennedy...
started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson...
turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton...
went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. (we are STILL there) He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. He turned a blind eye to numerous attacks on American installations and embassies.
In the two years since terrorists attacked us
President Bush has ...
liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who laughtered 300,000 of his own people.
The Democrats (and media) are complaining about how long the war is taking, but... It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51 day operation (against American men, women and children).
We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing the best job he knows how!
The Military is doing a superb job, given the circumstances!
The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.
Idiots, such as Michael Moore, and the crowd of left wing perverts in Hollywood, do not deserve our support. What they offer is not free speech, but lies. No self respecting American should pay to see the garbage presented by this man and his Hollywood friends.

I know that this will be deleted shortly as all of the dissenting opinions on this website seem to be. I see several people have responded to liberal posts yet those posts are nowhere to be found, Ironic on a site called freerepublic. However if you are lucky enough to read this before it gets deleted I just want to ask, What Lies? I try to keep an open mind & listen to both sides but the only thing that I have heard that was supposedly a lie was that the Saudi flights were authorized during the No-Fly period. This segment was indeed heavily slanted but not a fabrication. They flew within the US during this period & left the US when the restrictions were lifted. Michael Moore has stated that this is not a balanced documentary, the facts are the facts but the opinions are all his. You can disagree as much as you want with those opinions & even I, being a liberal disagree with some of the opinions in this movie, However I have yet to hear a single fact from this movie disputed. If you read this & have seen the movie I welcome a friendly debate of the facts.

I am tired of lazy, hollyweird morons who have low to no self esteem tyring to get their fifteen minutes of fame by blaming the world's problems on other people. I will not see this movie for the simple fact that I will not give one dollar to the fat, ignorant, lying, communist, garbage heap who is tearing at the very threads of our nation, and who is incidentally, placing my family in jeopardy so he can get his fat face on TV and become more rich and more well known than he already is. That is what he is all about, and nothing more.

This is the kind of trash you get when you support the liberal in his endeavor to make a living, they turn the money you spent to support their craft against you. When I hear a liberal voice crying in the wilderness I try to ignore it. No support from me.
