I know they see it
And in the normally liberal stae of NJ, I close approx. %70 of my sales.
I won't display that on my home page, but I do have a patriotic-product category, and I state I donate part of the proceeds to a military charity. They have to click on the patriotic icon on the home page to see details, so if they don't like that sort of thing, they don't have to click on it. If they do click, then complain about it, I see no reason why I'd want them as customers.
My photo/caricature is also shown wearing a patriotic shirt on another page.
You've got guts. I'd hire you in a heartbeat.
We do have one business that to a point is an exception. We have a woman who calls her business the Flag Lady's flag store. She is conservative christian and pretty much doesn't hide that. But then again, she has flags of all types (although I've never checked to see if she has flags of repressive nations or flags that support for example gay themes) although my former company was owned by Swedes and we bought a Swedish flag from her. And we know Swede's openly support socialism.
My guess among bikers, even if they hate President Bush, they none the less support the military and the men and women who risk their lives. Probably why you haven't got much in the way of hate mail. You've got to consider the audience.
I was in LA several years ago. I was known to be a big Reagan fan. They had a cutout of Reagan and Ollie North at one of those Poloroid snap shot places. I had a shot taken of Reagan, Ollie and me and carried it for years. Among some of the hourly's where I worked, they thought I had actually met with the two of them. It was great fun.
But it doesn't say Bush/Cheney. You don't have to be republican to be pro military.
Could be.
80% of our customers are vets, anyway.
[We're the only trike builders who give a discount to military so that might be a factor, too]
You shouldn't feel "ashamed".
Hubby's trike building is not our only source of income so we can "afford" to irritate half the country.....;)
I would never fault a person for *not* displaying such things if profit from the website was feeding their family.
That's the real difference between "liberals" and "conservatives", anyway.
Conservatives grit their teeth and put practicality and responsibility to themselves and those who depend on them, first.
Liberals would rather run out and scream and picket any time something doesn't go "their way".
Somebody once mentioned how many 'liberal' protests there are, compared to conservative ones.
I pointed out that most conservatives are too busy earning a living to go gallavanting around the country for protests.
The real world won't give you the day off to go "save the whales" and there are no "right wing subversive groups" which underwrite/finance organized conservative protests, either.....:)
This is true! I might take you up on this idea. If I find my sales go down, I can always blame you and sue for reparations.
there is wisdom in your words. im still holding out for the "humor approach". i have one of those pin-on buttons that says; "MAKE THE SCARY REPUBLICAN GO AWAY". conservative-minded folks get a good laugh, and i enjoy the lib reaction tremendously because most of them really dont get irony, so theyre usually "conflicted" in their reactions - im sure you can imagine....:) (context: marketing to doctors & staff, but not a drug rep)
search "how did you sleep last night, america?" you know what i mean
Then again, I think ANY man would feel that way if he were there!
Thank you, you're too kind.
...and proud of it.
The link doesn't work thanks to my html mistake.
Try this: http://www.catiiimusicpublishing.com
What a beautiful picture of Lady Liberty and the NYC skyline. Thanks for posting it.
"MAKE THE SCARY REPUBLICAN GO AWAY"
ROFL!
Man.
Wish I had one of those.
["conflicted"...now there's a word to describe every liberal I've ever met]...;)
I gotcha.
In fact, I had several of those very photos on our home page when the "war" was in full swing.
If I recall correctly, I made a comment to the effect of what they go through so that we can sleep peacefully.
On our military tribute page, this is the most notable block of text:
"We sleep soundly in our beds at night because rough men
stand ready to do violence on our behalf."
I, too, stand in awe of them.
Many's the time that I see a soldier in their fatigues, shopping in some store or other.
I want to go up and thank them and I'm often paralyzed by my feelings of unworthiness to even do so.
At the last "Rolling Thunder" rally, I thanked an enlisted fellow who just grinned like crazy and said "You don't have to thank *me*. I LOVE what I do".
We're not worthy.....:)
just saw this posted on another thread.....looks like a possible resource (synchronicity?)
