Could give a whole new, richer, double meaning to the term 'frog walk.'

Do you think NPR will make it their headline story for three weeks like they did Abu Graib?

Dear Lord, please hear and answer the prayer of Mo1 with swift justice. Let not his clock over-tic or over-toc.

Amen.

"THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE IRAQI MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS SAID HIS COUNTRY WILL SOON RELEASE TO THE IRAQI PRESS DOCUMENTS REVEALING THE NAMES OF COUNTRIES AND INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE INVOLVED IN THE 'OIL FOR FOOD' SCANDAL. (AL-SABAH AL-JADID, IRAQ, 7/6/04)"

Any more auditors to be blown up until then? Was the bombing a warning?

I somehow think this list is going to be a disappointment.

Did the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs have unfettered access to everyone and all documents at the UN? Did they co-operate fully?

I doubt it...seems to me those folks at the UN are either lying or dying. But I hope I am really, really, wrong.

First thing to do is to compare it to the "Al Mada" list.

There could be cover ups, for sure.

You would...if, that is, you assumed that NPR wasn't simply total sycophants for anything un-Bush. So, other than that small (and VERY annoying) detail, you'd be right in thinking that.

Yes, lets all see the names and countries.

And then lets remember that the LA Times put 21 more reporters on the "hunt" for Arnold Schwarzengger's supposed "groping" scandals than they did on the multi-Billion Dollar oil-for-food scandal that took money away from Iraqi childrens' hospitals in exchange for bribing weapons importers.

While I'm sure that the Iraqi ministries had no access to the UN's documents, historically most dictatorships have been really "anal retentive" about documenting everything they did. There's a very good chance that the people doing the bribing kept terrific records of who they bribed, and just how much was paid.

Don't overlook the utterly feckless Canadian government of Jean Chretien.

His opposition to the War in Iraq was based on his principles, and not at all on the fact that his son-in-law is the single largest share holder in French Oil Company Total Fina Elf. I'm sure he didn't benefit in the least from this murderous corruption.

You don't have to live in France to be a French scumbucket.

This Iraqi interm government is a piece of work. From hearing the Iraqi FM say that they'll "root out the bloodsucking terrorists and chop off their ears", to them saying that they will back attacks on countries that are allowing foreign terrorists into the country, to this release of info on the oil for food.

Incredible.
