Edwards Is Their Man (Homosexuals)

Edwards Is Their Man

The selection of Senator John Edwards as Kerry’s running mate has certainly “fired up” some people. Within hours of his selection the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Policy Institute issued a statement bragging that “John Kerry and John Edwards make up the most gay-supportive national ticket in American history!” Those are strong words and you can bet they will result in more money pouring into the Democratic National Committee from the homosexual rights crowd.

In a week or so, the Senate will vote on the issue of whether to write into the Constitution a guarantee that marriage in America remains between only a man and a woman. Here’s my prediction: Kerry and Edwards will both claim to be for traditional marriage while both will vote against allowing the amendment to be considered on the Senate floor.

In other words, they are betting that yesterday’s strong endorsement as the “most gay-supportive” ticket in our history and their votes against traditional marriage will never be discovered by the West Virginia coal miner, the Iowa farmer or the North Carolina small businessman whose support they are seeking! We, however, will do everything we can to expose politicians who support homosexual “marriage.”

Our Future?

Men and women of faith need to take a close look at what is going on in the world beyond our borders – there are storm clouds rising on the horizon that threaten our religious liberty here at home. In Sweden there has been a raging court battle over religious freedom and free speech that has finally come to a chilling end. Pastor Ake Green has been sentenced to one month in prison for preaching the biblical view of human sexuality. Yes, my friends, that’s jail time for a pastor who dared to speak against homosexuality. And don’t think this is just one isolated incident.

Last year the Anglican bishop of Chester, England, was hauled into the local police station and investigated for hate speech after noting that some homosexuals can overcome their “orientation.” Cardinals in Belgium and Spain are facing lawsuits for preaching against sexual immorality. Even in Ireland Catholic clergy have been warned against distributing the Vatican’s statement against same-sex “marriage” or else they could face prosecution under Ireland’s “incitement to hatred” legislation. In April Canada passed a new “hate crimes” law that also criminalizes certain speech deemed “politically incorrect.”

How does this impact us here in America? Our own Supreme Court has come to rely upon foreign law with increasing frequency. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor recently cited foreign law in determining the outcome in cases related to the death penalty and overturning laws against homosexual sodomy. But it’s not just the courts. Last month 65 members of the United States Senate voted for a bill elevating sexual preferences to the same legal status as one’s race and religion. How much longer before priests, pastors and rabbis are hauled off to prison cells in this country for defending our Judeo-Christian values?

If you haven’t called your senators yet at (202) 224-3121 to urge their support for the marriage preservation amendment, think about Pastor Ake Green because if we lose this battle over the meaning of marriage, his fate is our future. And if you are a pastor or a rabbi reading this message today, I hope you will take the opportunity this weekend – while you still enjoy the freedom to do so – to teach your congregations about the value of God’s institution of marriage and the importance of civic duty.

No reason for surprise at this - and no reason to worry. The "gay Republican" oxymoron has always been a press phenomenon. Nominal "Log Cabin Republicans" probably vote Democratic enough to be considered in their base. In other words - they didn't vote for Bush in 2000 and will not vote for him in 2004. Dog bites man.Yawn.

With all the lovey dovey looks Kerry is giving Edwards and the added fact Kerry can't seem to keep his hands off Edwards, I'm wondering if Kerry likes to play switch.

WIERD TO THE MAX....

Heard a women caller on Rush today. She was funny talking about all the hugs and hand holding between the empty suit twins, kerry and edwards, she thought that they needed to get a motel room.

Kerry just doesn't have any real social skills. I doubt he likes to "play switch" as you put it.

He's just a great big dope.

Catch a whiff of Bill Clinton yet one more time. I believe that Monicagate was just the "cherry on the topping". It was the one part of his variety of interests, the only segment of his private life which was exposed.

"They both married women 4-5 years older."

"Mommie figures."

Really now, don't you think that is a little unfair? My first wife (deceased) was five years older than me and was anything but a mommie figure, my current wife is eight years younger than me and nobody accuses her of marrying a father figure.
