Nope, none of us will have the opportunity to worry about it if this invasion continues.

From 1970 to the year 2000, the hispanic populace rose 300% in Washington, D.C. That's our nation's capital. You don't know or want us to enforce our laws, so I figured you may need help here.

The big news here is he didn't go to the NAACP convention but he went to the League of United Latin American Citizens annual convention in San Antonio.

If you are involved in electoral politics why don't you tell us your preferences?

As my profile page notes, I prefer Kerry to lose, because JFK would continue Jorge's encouragement of illegal immigration - while making worse judicial picks and weaker national security policy.

I am befuddled by some of Pat Buchanan's lurches in recent years but his general notion that we of European ethnic origin are committing ethnic suicide is exactly right. I believe in an America enriched by successive waves of immigration. But I have not believe in just giving this country over to a third-world invasion.

Having spent most of my adult life in the el mundo tercera, I agree with you...it's a mistake. Careful though....lots of feel-gooders on this one here. W's folks are hoping for 38% Hispanic vote (mostly Cubans no doubt) and we have opened the floodgates for that. When the Left has an electoral lock because of this tomfoolery and the average American is 4'8" tall then we will have our "good nature" to blame..lol Lunacy...no other culture on the planet would behave so cavalier. YES I AM VOTING FOR BUSH...SO PUT AWAY THE LONG KNIVES!

Not sure about that part, but I do wish these third parties would get their act together.

"But I'd rather loose than to give over on such profound core issues as these. This, really tees me off, Mr. President. "

Welcome to FreeRepublic, my Democrat friend. Don't become too comfortable though, unlike some of the posters you see on this thread, most of us are winners, not losers.

Excuse me, but our President was using the legalization talk today. That is NOT one of the two Johns. How will you feel if Bush grants amnesty next spring? I'm not going to be very happy about it, I can tell you for certain.

As I said, I'll be voting for Bush, but I'm not going to mince words when he screws up.

We're supposedly carrying on a war on terrorism, but our borders are wide open. I like Bush, but this is very distrubing to me.

He's not going to grant amnesty; you know it's a worker's program.

That, of course, is what he said back in January; and as far as I know, he hasn't said one more word about it until today; the article itself says that Bush had provided ZERO guidance about any kind of bill he has in mind.

Yes, we do need that manymmigrant laborers. If we didn't, they wouldn't come.

And as I am sure you know, that's EXACTLY how I feel about this issue.

I wish the third parties would get their act together as well. The sad truth is that it is next to impossible to elect someone from their ranks. If the third party were conservative, that would merely split the vote from the right.

If the Republican party had allowed Buchanan to present his views during the normal course of the 1996 primary season, we may have had a chance. We would have elected a man whose views on some issues would have been good. On others they would have been bad.

As I see it, the party leaders are happy as larks risking all by going too far left, but terrified of going somewhat to the right.

I thought some fixed for the border issues and some moderation on outsourcing was called for. Today $600 billion dollars per year and about 2 million illegals a year later, and people still haven't realized what's taking place.

lol....me too, WD. But it's to be expected at this point of the election season that a lotta high-strung types around these parts intrepret any criticism of admin policy as an admission of third-party loyalty. Nutty, but it goes with the territory.

B-I-N-G-O.

Seems there are some out there that don't want to hear any criticisms of our President. I will proudly vote for President Bush in November, but it's not disloyal to suggest that the administration is not understanding our problem.

According to a local talk show, it has cost California an estimated 5 _B_illion dollars on health, education, and other state services.

Any idea of giving amnesty to those who by applying for said amnesty tacitly admit committing TWO crimes (illegal entry and working illegally).

Asa Hutchinson was on a local talk show today answering (or rather, NOT answering) questions about enforcing our immigration laws on the interior of CA. It was a sad display of legalese and dare I say clinton-esque evasions. I was really rooting for Mr. Hutchinson to promise we Californians a modest effort at interior enforcement.

Besides Buchanan, not having Alan Keyes arrested would have been nice too. Can't fight a war on terror half assed. Also, there are people who wait and wait for US visas, people who apply for immigration the legal way and Bush wants special rights for Mexican illegals to jump ahead of everyone else. It's like you buying a movie ticket then having ten people rush ahead without paying.

"It continually baffles me how people you and others can call themselves conservatives, then advance the idea that our laws don't matter and the U.S. Constituion is a worthless piece of paper. "

It continually baffles me how people like you can call themselves conservatives, then go on the internet and aid Kerry by attacking President Bush.

Just because Buchanan attacks Bush doesn't mean that it isn't foolish. He has his personal reasons which shouldn't apply to you.

By the way, do you aid your families' enemies by taking your family to task in public?

I know that you and I disagree here, so I'm going to try to moderate my tone. I hope you'll excuse if I don't do so as much as I am trying to.

We have 5.6% unemployment in this nation right now. The highest unemployment right now is the teenage demographic. You know as well as I do where all those entry level jobs have gone to. We still have people on welfare. They could be put to work as well.

Look, we created the greatest nation on the planet before 1990. How can anyone make the claim that they love Ronald Reagan, then turn around and claim that he left us in such dire straights that we had to allow our nation to be taken over by illegal aliens to save it?

I'm sorry, but I simply cannot agree with this demand for workers programs. It's insulting.

A very high number of the entering children turn to gangs, crime and lives never to be as productive as those of bonified citizens. Look at the gang activity and tell me who you see being arrested over and over again. Is it the U.S. citizen?

Our state prisons are full of illegal aliens who have committed serious crimes. LA County can't even get permission to deport criminal aliens. Surely you must see that this has turned into a very bad situation. Bush should be able to see it too.

Asa Hutchinson got ambushed today on local radio. It kills me to see people who should be doing the right thing, get ambushed by folks who aren't what you'd typically call bedrock conservatives. John and Ken have been good on some issues, but on others they're terrible.

Asa should never have been put in the position he was today, defending policy that is indefensible.
