HEINZ-KERRY, KENNETH LAY, ENRON CONNECTION !!
The Fox News Channel | 7/9/04 | GeorgeW23225

Posted on 07/09/2004 1:26:29 PM PDT by GeorgeW23225

Just on the Fox News Channel.............

A Heinz-Kerry, Kenneth Lay, Enron connection.

It seems that Kenneth Lay was not only a guest of John and Teraaazzzaaa at their Georgetown Mansion, BUT.....he was on the board of directors of the Heinz Foundation. In turn, Terrraaaazzza had over $250,000 in Enron stock.

I wonder if we should tell Michael Moore ??? :-)

Stay tuned. This could be interesting..........

But in the mind of a Leftist, perceptions trump truth everytime. Note how only the mention of word: Halliburton, causes them to make vast assumptions about Bush/Cheney. Perhaps we can get to the point on the right when all we have to do to scare a lib is say: Enron/Ken Lay!

And this is breaking news?

Must be a slow news day.

Perhaps someone could come up with a completer list of people that owned and sold this stock.

I am sure it would cover every political party.

This is not news...

Which speaks volumes about the fundamentals underlying that business.

And, what influence did Ken Lay have on Bush?

(They (Enron executives) ATTENDED only three WH meetings -ALONG with several hundred other oil and energy executives in each meeting.)

So, exactly WHAT are the democrats accusing Bush of doing wrong by receiving Enron campaign donations?

(Are they accusing Bush of NOT following Clinton's example and using US government diplomatic and energy policy pressure to make foreign sales FOR Enron?)

he was on the board of directors of the Heinz Foundation.

Seems to me this could be big. If he was handing out money to left wing charities, we can really use the Left's statements about Lay/Enron to hammer them.

Also, it is interesting that while Lay contributed to everyone politically there was a rather important difference between the Clinton and Bush presidencies.

Namely, when Enron asked for favors from Clinton they got them. When they asked for favors from Bush they got nothing. Not that the leftist press would ever see fit to mention that...

I don't think so. this is exactly the kind of juicy tidbit that makes the NY Times front page when Repubs are involved. How many days have we heard about Cheney's addicted doctor? How many of your liberal acquaintances still point to Ken Lay as Bush's friend? Forgetting of course, that Lay was misbehaving badly back in the Clinton administration. So having Lay on Teresa's BOARD is a real, undeniable connection to her househusband.

No "reach" here. The point is: Did you know about this before Fox News broke the story??? Didn't you think that President Bush had the "Enron" connection?? At least that is what we were being told by the liberal media. Now, it turns out that Clinton did. And now team Heinz-Kerry enter stage left. I find that interesting, and I think that Michael Moore should investigate immediately!! Afterall, fair is fair, isn't it???

Exactly! Heck, wasn't Clinton the one who personally set up the Indian deal which was one of the biggest mistakes in Enron's history? Lay was on numerous Commerce Department travels with the CLinton administration, as he was also on his Council of Economic Advisors...working for passage of Kyoto, were Enron could've made big bucks.

I also seem to recall a story about Clinton's ex-Treasurer...Rubin, who after joining Citigroup, actually called the Bush administration to get them to artificially inflate Enron's credit rating so they could continue to barrow against their already declining credit. This should've been a big story...as should the fact that none of Clinton's people adhered to his own EO ordering them to stay away from lobbying for 5 years.

Want to ensure Ralph Nader gets on the ballot in your state? Go to:

http://www.votenader.org/

Check out the upper left hand corner of the page.

Help them with their petition drive in your state if applicable. At the very least sign their petition. Really want to have some fun, circulate a petition around among friends and family.

Let’s support democracy. Get Ralph on the ballot in as many states as possible.

And, what influence did Ken Lay have on Bush?

Aparently none. The one thing Enron wanted Bush to do was to impose CO2 limitations which would have significantly boosted the value of Enron's natural gas holdings. The Bush administration refused to limit CO2 which made the Rats go into spasms and screwed Enron big time.

A connection, yes, but what Dims and Libs look for is a connection with probable cause. They can tout the line that President Bush was influenced by Lay, because of donations and Lay's presence in those meetings.

What is mentioned in this thread doesn't fall into that category. So Lay and Heinz were on the same board. Where's the beef?

There might be beef, but it isn't here yet. Until then, you're chasing your tail on this one.

IMO.

The Clinton story has been out there for a long time now. Until you establish a connection that shows probable cause for influence-peddling of some sort involving the Heinz-Kerrys, you ain't got nuttin' worth talkin' 'bout.

We are held to a higher standard than Dims and Libs. Get over it and live with the unfairness of it all.

Er, uh, Clinton was ENTIRELY bought off by Enron donations/bribes; and explicitly made foreign policy and US political pressure and US energy dept proposals on behalf of Enron to Indonesia, China, and India.

It was, in fact, the economic failure of these Ponzi schemes (under Bush, when he refused to go along with Enron's promotions) that led to Enron's failures.

Clinton canceled that 5-year wait time (for former govt officials to NOT become influence peddlers) just before HIS democrats left the White House.

Of course, just when the former Bush-41 staff were leaving, Clinton CREATED that same Federal regulation so the Bush team COULD NOT get employment in DC lobbying the administration!

Kenneth Lay's Kerry Connection

By Lloyd Grove
Friday, June 27, 2003; Page C03

The following is excerpted from this article:

Yesterday, self-styled muckraker Bernardo Issel of NonprofitWatch.org told us that the much-maligned Lay has been a longtime member of the board of trustees of the Heinz Center, an environmental group founded by the candidate's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. She's the group's vice chairman, and Lay left the small board earlier this year after serving for nearly a decade.

Issel calls this situation "hypocrisy." We'll settle for "irony."

The Kerry campaign directed us to Chris Black, communications director of the Heinz Family Philanthropies. Black acknowledged Lay's participation and his status as a corporate "boogeyman." But she added: "Whatever troubles he had at Enron, Ken Lay had a good reputation in the environmental community for being a businessman who was environmentally sensitive.

Whenever the rats go out on a limb with mantras about evil republicans, their rants/mantras are usually a ruse to keep Americans from finding out that the Rats are more guilty than the Republicans.
