Bang!
I had heard that the root of gun control was indeed slavery, which Bowling For Columbine happened to skip. This is very interesting.
Gun control is certainly racist today. The most restrictive gun control laws are found in the areas of the country with the largest minority populations.
I don't think gun-control is race-based these days. More to continue the socialist/UN agenda to outlaw all guns, not just assault weapons. It's becoming more and more a case of us against 'them.' They fear us for good reason.
excellent!!!
Michael Moore couldn't be a racist who wants to disarm black people. Could he?
This has been posted here about a million times over the years. Talking about the abnegation of gun rights for slaves is a bit like saying the pity of a murder is that it deprived its victim of his right to a free press; technically true, perhaps, but rather beside the point. The interesting thing about this article and its repeated appearance here at FR is that it is a good example of how liberal doctrine dominates public debate. It's a variation of the "Giant Meteor to Strike Earth, Women and Minorities Most Effected" theme. The people pushing gun control will be happy to take guns from everybody, and what racism there is in it isn't directed at blacks. The key question is: who's pushing gun control hardest and who do they hate?
There are lots of sites online that -profess- to uphold our Constitution.
Let the reader beware. Many of them

And yet some of the most adamant supporters of "gun control" are "civil rights" groups like the NAACP. What accounts for THAT? The article didn't really explain it.
What needs to be made clear here is that certain minority groups in this country commit a vastly disproportionate amount of violent crime, including gun crimes. For the NAACP, placing the blame on the guns themselves serves to distract from the point that most of the gun crimes committed today are committed by blacks.
For a thorough examination of this, using FBI data -- which is included -- see Jared Taylor's study on The Color of Crime.
The tendency of any government to want to restrict firearms from the population is age-old. The ambition of men in power always heads in the direction of limiting or banning firearms ownership. Whatever race has to do with this in our historical experience, it would have been the case even if there were no minorities here. It is a right that freemen will ALWAYS have to fight for and sacrifice to protect.
