I am only 15 years old, but I saw ''Fahrenheit 9/11.'' I came out of the movie and thought about it. Wow, this man (President Bush) is leading our country -- how depressing! I do believe that everyone should be required to see this movie.
Another thing: Michael Moore said that if anyone did not like this movie it did not matter, because it was all fact. So I challenge you people that hated this movie, what was not true?
Sarah Mayer, Oak Forest
Let's hope this girl never finds herself in a position of authority.
A fifteen year old little kitty cat was able to see a Rated R motion picture?
At least she can't vote in the 2004 election. It seems Fata** Moore's movie appeals to younger teens. They are gullible to propaganda.
Can I be the first to bash him? With a heavy baseball bat? Please?
We can't actually expect her to go onto the internet and look for sites that bash Michael Moore for his lies, can we? After all, she's only 15. She's old enough to have an opinion, but too young for us to call her on it. BARF.
Wow, an endorsement from a 15-year-old. We all know how wise and unimpressionable they are. [/sarcasm]
The thoughts of the thoughtless can send shivers....
How 'bout the initial premise that Algore really won the election. Really smart girls shouldn't be taking candy from fat strangers.
Yep a true Democrat who has a love for the color red.
It reminds me of those anti-war rallies with 6-year-olds holding signs like "War is harmful to children and other living things..." and everyone says "Ah, that's so right. Out of the mouths of babes...."
Yeah, that's what we need...geopolitical wisdom from someone who still needs an adult to wipe his a** properly.
CHICAGOLAND PING
Sorry to say this girl is a south suburbanite.
Look, I suspect this isn't the first time the young lady has gone for the stranger with the candy. It probably won't be the last.
When I was just two years younger than this little mensa, I saw the "Chariots of the Gods" movie, narrated by Rod Serling.
I was absolutely convinced that ancient astronauts had built the pyramids, had taught the Incas to fly spaceships and would return, according to an old Aztec calender, on December 23, 2003.
In a pinch they will take who they can get.
They are up against a lot of pincher's.
Your wish is our command, little darlin':
It would be far easier to tell you what WAS true about "Fahrenheit."
You know the part at the end where it says "The End"? Yeah. That was true. All the rest is the stuff you put on roses to make them bloom longer.
The 21st Century's "The Triumph of the Will." I notice Ebert was suggesting everyone see it.
I guess, Ebert similarly would recommend "The Triumph of the Will" to all Germans in the 1930? It is one thing to study propoganda in film or history classes after the fact. It is another to suggest everyone see them during the time they can cause trouble.
But I am sure that did not concern Ebert. Afterall both "documentaries" either intensionally or unintentionally have the same goal, more dead Jews.
Was there anything in "Triumph of Will" that was not true either?
Dear Sarah
I'm with you. Micheal Moore really is a genius. A marketing genius. He knew if he made a made a movie for dull ignorant people that think little thoughts and blame the world for their problems, he would make a lot of money. While he claims to be a protector of the the powerless against big evil capitalists, this movie has pulled in millions of dollars from the dim- witted ignorant fools -hum I mean powerless people.
He thanks you for the support and your money.
Regards.
aghhh yes..... fifteen and so smart , of course I guess 15 is about the mental IQ level of most liberals so why am I acting suprised?
Between William O'Rourke's idiotic defense of Moore, and Roger Ebert's evasive response to a reader querying about his unquestioning lapping up of Moore's lies (Ebert simply sneered at the reader, asking if he questioned Bush about the WMDs), this is actually one of the more intelligent commentaries in today's Sun-Times.
Little totalitarian, isn't she?
Mr. Moore has freedom of speech (although he can face consequences for the treason of aiding and comforting the enemy in a time of war, he can face consequences for receiving money from the terrorist organization Hezbollah, and he can face consequences if someone would chose to sue him for libel).
Just as Axis Mikey has the freedom of speech, I have the freedom to shut him out (I don't have to listen to his speech). This little dictator doesn't believe in that freedom.
Earlier this year, Mel Gibson released his blockbuster film, "The Passion." That was a real documentary, a meticulously researched and factual account of the crucifixion of the Christ.
When liberals boast about how successful Fahrenheit 9/1l has been, they are wrong both in claiming that it's a documentary and that it's anywhere near as successful as The Passion.
Could me that Sarah is 45 and in the psycho ward at Oak Forest Hospital. All that newspapers ask with letters to the editor is that you give them an address and a phone # to be reached to confirm it's "you." The media really fawns over the "it's a kid" emotional pull.
George W. Bush: 50,460,110
Albert Gore Jr.: 51,003,926
Total votes: 105,417.258
Difference between Gore and Bush: 543,816 votes (0.5158% difference)
The "popular vote" was a draw (half of one percent difference).
Why? Because a concert film/band documentary comes with a ready audience of fans? Because few IMAX films are shown in "regular" theaters (I know of at least one multiplex in town with an IMAX screen)?
Never rely on one source when researching information for a debate (especially one as biased as Axis Mikey).
Your letter has lifted my spirits immeasurably. It appears as though the efforts of the NEA to turn this country's children into complete and utter reasonless morons has succeeded in your case.
I'll never have to worry about competing with you, and those like you, for any job requiring analytical skills beyond knowing when to pull up the basket of fries.
I'll have extra ketchup with mine, please. ;-)
She does have the typical psychological maturity as the rest of liberal base. None have mentally matured past their young teen years.
"So anyways Michael Moore went, 'Bush is off the hizzle' and then so I went 'Cool.' And then Jennifer went 'Cheney sucks. Who jacked his @ss?' So I went 'Whatever. Let's go get baked biatch. So Jenn went 'Let's roll. But we ain't buyin from Rudy. He be slingin swagg.'"
Let's hope this girl wises up with age.
And she's in my frickin' town!!! Forgive me Lord for the sinful thoughts I have right now about this helpless mind!!
LMAO!
This little girl probably things reality tv is factual also.
Rest assured she won't be reading it.
Please, if you're gonna speak abouth the twit, speak her language ;^)
Remember the Nostradamus movie with Orson Wells? Remeber that huge Earthquake that wiped out LA and San Fran in 1987? Wait a minute, that didn't happen! Stupid Nostradamus!
Hey, if the Incas had spaceships, how'd Pizzaro take them so easily? Maybe they got the death ray button and the "deploy cupholder" button confused in the heat of battle.
It ends with a frightening prophecy of a new world war and the apocolypse. Some guy with a blue turban.
Nostradamus / Orson Wells KNEW!
Michael Moore advocates buying votes with beer and food(from his "Do Something" suggestions)
Moore reaches his target audience: The brainwashed liberal drones who already felt that way to begin with. Wow!!
You know, I haven't seen, TOTW, but I'd bet you're right, in that the rally was truthfully recorded without distortion, even though it was a festival of murderous lies. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that (if you only count lies, deceptions and distortions by the filmmaker, not the subjects of the film,) F9/11 has many, many, many more lies thatn TOTW. Take for instance, that the first shot of F9/11 is a lie: It shows a Gore rally on election day and portrays it as Gore's celebration of his "victory" late that night. Take, for instance, the vacation calculation where Moore counts weekends as vacation time. Take the portion where he shows a Congressman who has no children as an example of pols who won't sacrifice their kids for Bush's evil war. Much of Moore's lying is the equivalent of Reifenstahl showing Hitler speaking at Nuremburg and claiming that he was actually doing it in Moscow, having already defeated the evil communists.
If those sorts of shenanigans were completely absent from TOTW, it wouldn't surprise me much. Reifenstahl's task was to make Hitler look like a dynamic speaker with a lot of followers, not a very difficult task since he was that already at the time. In other words, she was supposed to make an evil make look more powerful and slightly less evil than he was. Moore's task is to make a good man look like a Hitler. That takes a lot more lying.
Judging by myself and many of my peers, she won't wise up by 18. Now, age 30, almost certainly if there is any hope at all.
What do I mean by no hope? I have spoken to many teens since 9/11 and almost all of them are 100% hawkish. Most of those who aren't are, for all intents and purposes, 21st century red diaper babies (kids of professors and neo-hippies) and all are ignorant of basic American history and values. The last one I talked too didn't know that the battle of Okinawa was in WWII. A kid who was twelve when the towers fell who thinks Michael Moore is the bees knees may just be too deluded to reach, but then again, when I was 15 I had all the bad features of a big-time lib and a person who doesn't pay attention to politics. Thank God I've wised up on both counts.
