"The official, a former congressman who works under Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, attempted to defend the Bush administration record on immigration enforcement, but was repeatedly pressured by Kobylt to justify the canceling of the sweeps."

IF we had a sane alternative party running against Bush, they would kill him on this issue. But we don't. The Dems are as bad or even worse.

Somebody should bring a class action suti against the Bush Administration for failure to carry out one of its primary Constitutional responsibilities - protection of our borders.

Bush's record on illegal invaders is as bad as a Democrat's. So is his genuflecting to the Mexicans and their commander in chief Vicente Fox.

That whole 'Homeland Security' thing doesn't mean much if the word 'borders' has been redefined to mean nothing.

Bush's record on illegal invaders is as bad as a Democrat's.

Well, pretty comparable anyway. Given the supposed GOP focus on security issues, I'd say it is more important to GOP voters and swing voters and those in the Southwest and CA than most anything you might name. Not to mention legal Hispanic immigrant citizens like some of those that I know personally.

There's nothing at all to stop Castro or Al-Qaeda from sending a veritable terrorist army over that border over the course of a few weeks. Who would even know until it was too late?

Congress has the laws on the books. But the executive branch is the one who chooses to enforce or not to enfore "the sacred rule of law". Whatever that phrase means these days...
