Try not to slug this one, Jackson. She’s a friend of mine.

Now I'm losing touch with reality and I'm almost out of blow
It's such a fine line-- I hate to see it go
Cocaine, runnin' all 'round my brain

Running on Empty! Running blind!

Running into the sun, but I’m running behind.

You, Jackson! You represent American Family Values!

This is great. John Kerry hasn't got dirt in common with Jackson Browne.

You want Irony?

[IRONY]

Many of Browne's songs, written as Vietnam-esq protest songs, hit me hardest during the Clinton years. Warnings about government lying to us, about the loss of honor, about trusting no one...all of them, every song off those old records, pointed right to the Bent One, although I am sure Browne never thought about Bill's misdeads for a minute as being the perfect example of what he warned about.

And now, here he is, defending the undefendable, supporting the unsupportable, standing in Bill's Long Shadow on the wrong side of history, protesting the only honorable man who has been in the Oval Office since Bush Senior. How can Browne look the other way and play the Left's attack dog when 3000 people died because of Bubba's limp-wristed foreign policy? Who's the real "Soldier of Misfortune" who sold his soul now, Jackson?

[/IRONY]

I always thought Jackson Browne was a lame-o - now here's proof!

Was it the highly underrated Tonio K. who wrote a scathing song about Mr. Browne? Help jog my memory banks, FReeper rockers!

You're gonna love this true story. As a highschooler a friend and I managed to sneak into a motel where Browne was staying, actually recording, and were invited to a room party with his traveling buddies. We were offered, but declined, what I assumed was cocaine, on a butter knife, being passed around the room. Falling onto the floor.....

Never did meet Jackson himself, though.

He supposedly injured the mermaid woman, the one who was living with him for ages and then briefly dated John Kennedy jr.

It was 15 or 20 years ago. It was Darryl Hannah (girlfriend at the time) IIRC. About as current news as GW being a drinker. Why do the good people at Free Republic have to stoop so low? All I hear is that we're so much better than the opposition and then we trot out this bull.

Browne Prevails In Defamation Disputes

"I never assaulted Daryl Hannah, and this fact was confirmed by the investigation conducted at the time by the Santa Monica Police Department," Browne says in a statement. "I am gratified that Fox has agreed to take these steps."

No doubt John Kerry is all excited because he's actually standing next to someone who slept with someone who slept with John F. Kennedy, Jr. It practically makes Kerry a Kennedy... or at least sort of a common law lover-in-law, to JFK, Jr., right?

Jackson Browne Gets Apologies From TV Shows Over False Allegation
(LAUNCH, 07/18/2003 12:00 PM)http://launch.yahoo.com/read/news.asp?contentID=214165

(7/18/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Jackson Browne has gotten two TV shows to drop references to the long-standing rumor of his attack on his former girlfriend, actress Darryl Hannah.

Fox Television Studios, which produced America's Prince: The JFK Jr. Story, has deleted any mention of Browne in two scenes that refer to him assaulting Hannah. In a statement, Browne said, "I never assaulted Daryl Hannah, and this fact was confirmed by the investigation conducted at the time by the Santa Monica Police Department. I am gratified that Fox has agreed to take these steps."

America's Prince documented the life of the late John F. Kennedy Jr., who dated Hannah after her relationship with Browne ended. The movie first aired in January on the TBS cable network, and Browne sent a cease-and-desist letter shortly afterward.

In addition, a different show has issued an apology to Browne and deleted references to him and Hannah. The VH1 program When Cameras Cross The Line, which is about celebrity photographers, has dropped footage pertaining to Browne and Hannah. Also, the beginning of the show now includes this apology: "In a previous version of this program, we incorrectly reported an alleged incident involving singer Jackson Browne and actress Daryl Hannah. Mr. Browne has always denied that such an incident occurred, and local authorities have reported to the media that based upon their investigation, the incident previously reported in our program did not occur. We have deleted that material from our program, and we apologize to Mr. Browne for its inclusion."

In a statement, Browne's manager said, "Jackson is appreciative that the producers moved so quickly to correct the program and to apologize to Jackson."

Browne is on the road with Steve Earle and Keb' Mo'. Their next show is Friday (July 18) at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.

His latest album is the Naked Ride Home, which was released last September.

I remember that Jackson Browne was exonerated from the accusation that he whipped up on Daryl Hanna. I don't agree with his politics but I do have empathy for someone that gets accused of doing something to a woman that he didn't do. Women hurl accusations around and it is rare even when it is a falsehood that the man escapes the stigma. Bill Clinton is the best exception to the previous statement that I can think of at the present.

It appears we will never know the truth, but as I recall the police were called to their residence for something somewhat late one night.

I do know that his first wife committed suicide about 3 years after they had a son.

"It appears we will never know the truth, but as I recall the police were called to their residence for something somewhat late one night. "

It was when Darryl was moving out of Brownes house. Browne was the one who called the police. The police investigated and after talking with the people present, (there were others present besides Browne and Darryl) determined that no crime had been committed, and left. Darryl Hannah later made the allegations of domestic abuse, but no evidence was ever offered.

At any rate, Darryl Hannah is bigger than Jackson Browne. If they got into a fight I am pretty sure Darryl could kick his butt;^)

Jackson Browne, the Perry Como of rock schlock!

Loved the scene in The Don where the mafia protagonist puts the hurt on Darrel Hannah's boyfriend after the beau pummeled her. If you wonder who Hannah's real life boyfriend was that almost killed her, it is none other than Jackson Browne! Art mimics reality at times.

Just wanted to clarify that Hannah's character in The Don was almost killed by her boyfriend, not her real life boyfriend Jackson Browne. Sorry about that. (Still, good times Jackson).

LOL. Aerosmith is the Grand Poobah of this club.

JB actually put out 3 pretty darn fine records before he went the way of the pop/rock star. That is, if you like overly introspective stuff (which as a high school student in the mid 70's I did).

Kerry just wants guitar lessons, that's why he's suckin up to Browne.

"Please Jackson, show me a 'G'. I've been fakin it all along and one day someone's gonna turn on the amp."

BTW, Jackson Browne is another one of those 3 chord song writers. C'mon Jackson get bold, throw in an extra Am will ya?
