WASHINGTON, July 15 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. Melvin L. Watt (D-N.C.) owes independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader an apology for his use of off- color and racially insensitive language during a meeting held in the U.S. Capitol. Furthermore, the CBC as a whole should begin to act in a more civil manner, said a member of the African American leadership network Project 21.
On June 22, the CBC met with Nader to try to persuade him to abandon his presidential campaign, with the stated expectation that Nader's absence from the race would increase the possibility of President George W. Bush being defeated in the November election. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), a CBC member, calls the upcoming election "a life or death matter." According to witnesses outside of the closed-door meeting held in the basement of the Capitol, the discussion was punctuated with shouting and many CBC members stormed out of the room when it was over. Nader was reportedly rattled by the exchange.
Nader has since accused Representative Watt of using a "obscene, racist epithet" toward him during the meeting. In a letter to CBC Chairman Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.), Nader charged that Watt said: "You're just another arrogant white man -- telling us what we can do -- it's all about your ego -- another f--king arrogant white man." Nader told Cummings: "I expect that you and others in your caucus will exert your moral persuasion and request an apology from Congressman Watt."
Project 21 joins Nader in demanding action from the CBC in this matter. Project 21 member Mychal Massie said: "This visceral and racist verbal attack by Congressman Watt is yet another unambiguous example of complete disregard and disrespect for others by members of the CBC -- respect that CBC members hypocritically demand for themselves."
Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992.
The RAT party is QUICKLY becoming the Party of FILTH!!
Filth: 1 : foul or putrid matter; especially : loathsome dirt or refuse
2 a : moral corruption or defilement b : something that tends to corrupt or defile
WHY O WHY, can't the majority of Americans see how LOATHSOME, and morally corrupt they are!
Business as usual for the Dems I see.
Once again, Project 21 proves their civil leadership credentials.

Now, I might be reaching a bit, but...
Does ANYONE find it remotely interesting that the initials after this "person"'s name (in the parentheses) spell...DNC?
Sorry...the Pepsi must be strong this morning... :)
Black conservative ping
If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
our FR site should have a support group for Ralph Nader-his running is a good thing.
Well, at least Watt didn't call Nader a "cracker" or a "honky"...actually, Nader is a typically-arrogant Big Guv'ment Lefty!!
BTW...keep the pressure on, TBM!!
Looks like we can add Mel Watt to the Coalition of the Wild-Eyed!
I love how they turn on each other...rat feeding frenzy.
If this incident, denying him getting on the ballot, suing to keep him off the ballot, and many other such acts to follow doesn't convince people how hateful the DEMS are -- even to each other -- nothing else will.
I love how Bush is staying above it all. And thank God that he refused to speaking at the NAACP meeting.
Just think if Congressman Watt would also be attending their convention...what might have happened.
Just posted a report that Bush will be speaking at the Urban League. Another slap in the face to the NAACP!
Bush needs to go over the NAACP's head and go directly to the black churches, and the moderate black organizations.
Many blacks no longer agree with the people in charge of the NAACP. They have become an arm of the DNC.
