Nearly 400 Al-Qaeda Members And Other Terror Suspects In Iran: Newspaper
TurkishPress ^ | July 15 2004 | NA

DUBAI, July 15 (AFP) - Hundreds of alleged members of Al-Qaeda, including 18 of its top leaders, and other terror groups are living in Iran, some under tight security, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported Thursday.

"More than 384 members of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organisations are present in Iran, including 18 senior leaders of Osama bin Laden`s network," the London-based daily said, citing a senior source in the Iranian presidency.

The Saudi-owned newspaper said the terrorist leaders were living under tight protection, some of them in villas in the Namak Abrud region, near the town of Chalous on the Caspian coast, 100 kilometres (60 miles) north of Tehran.

Others are living in Lavizan, in the north-west of the capital, and which also houses a large military complex, it added.

The report could not be verified in Tehran.

According to the source, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad convinced Tehran, during his visit to Iran early this month, of the "seriousness" of using Al-Qaeda elements in Iran as a card in its policy with the United States.

As a consequence, Tehran handed over wanted Saudi militant Khaled bin Odeh bin Mohammed al-Harbi to the Saudi authorities, the source added.

Riyadh has said the disabled militant, suspected of being an Al-Qaeda figure close to bin Laden, surrendered on Tuesday under an amnesty after contacting the Saudi embassy in Iran.

In 2003, Iran confirmed it was holding senior Al-Qaeda members but refused to identify them. Tehran has said the detainees may stand trial in Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said last month his country had given Saudi Arabia some useful information concerning members of Osama bin Laden`s network that it was detaining.

There are no al Qaeda thugs or leaders in Iraq, Iran or Syria.

Their USA ambassador, al Querry has told us this several times.

When the NY Slimes tells us this, we will then know that it is probably true!

This is perfect for your blog.

Gather and index this data to show how the Iranians are housing, sheltering and probably financing al Qaeda in Iran.

Living under tight security?

Yeah, the Iranian Moolahs are providing "tight security" to keep the good ole USA from getting their hands on these murdering bastards.

All "heavily guarded" means in this context is that they're protecting the al-Qaeda guests from untoward intrusions by folks with a grudge, such as us. This isn't imprisonment, it's sanctuary.

It'll never happen, of course, but I can't help but think what an awful tragedy it would be if the nuclear facilities the Iranians don't know they have in that area were to go critical all of a sudden...

Intelligence muli-choice quiz.

(A)Al Qaeda is holed up in the area near the Afghan-Pakistan border.

(B)Al Qaeda is located in Iran on the Caspian Riviera under Iranian protection.

(C)AlQaeda is gathered in Saudi Arabia to overthrow the royal family.

(D)Al Qaeda is planning to launch an attack against the US election process.

(E) The CIA knows not that ABCD are true or false. How many of the choices do you THINK are true. If you were President, who would you attack?

These are true!

(A)Al Qaeda is holed up in the area near the Afghan-Pakistan border.

(B)Al Qaeda is located in Iran on the Caspian Riviera under Iranian protection.

(C)AlQaeda is gathered in Saudi Arabia to overthrow the royal family.

This is a perpetual wet dream the impotent al Qaeda thugs have: (D)Al Qaeda is planning to launch an attack against the US election process.

The liberals and the Buchanites want GW to attack before the election. So he won't. However, special forces will be operating in Syria and Iran. Work accidents will continue to happen in those two countries.

When al Queery is defeated this November. The Mullah Despots of Iran will plead for peace behind closed doors. There will be a regime change. Then, the choice is up to them:

1. To end up like the $oddomite.
2. Leave Iran and take up residence in Russia or France.

I also note that Iran under the Ayatollahs has long been hostile to Saudi Arabia. AQ and Iran share an interest here, as well.

Which is why it's very interesting that the Mad Mullahs have turned over the crippled shiek to the Saudis, and why they very well could turn over the rest. What they fear most of all is having SA join with the US. The Saudis are at risk and they're not about to play games. If the House of Saud joins the US against the Mad Mullahs it's all over for them, and I think they know it. They don't even have their own people on their side.

You could be correct. I am not so sure though that the Iranians have much fear of Saudi Arabia per se.

We may be finding out that by GWB shaking the Middle East tree (by regime-change in Iraq) many things are changing in that neck of the woods (which was an unstated point of the invasion of Iraq all along, ne c'est pas).

The only drawback to the Iraqi operation is the chance it has limited our actions toward Iran. Iran is the biggest sponsor of terror and supports Al Kada directly.

one suspects that Bush just wanted his own launching pad for Iran from his base in Iraq. The fact that we got Saddam and released 50 million people is just gravy...and it looks like the Iraqi leadership might be willing to crack heads for us, too!

Al qaeda hates the Shia's and it could get ugly for Iran.

They hate each other, but remember: THEY HATE US MORE

They may disagree on religion, but they are fellow Muslims to each other.

Remember the Hitler/Stalin Pact, where they agreed to an alliance to carve up Poland.
