Yeah - I know.
I'm just amazed at the number of articles that get posted here about COPA that get even the simplest of facts wrong.
(Not taking into account the various media reports that deliberately mislead and/or lie about the facts).
Two down and a handful of far-left radicals to go.
I wish you would ignore these threads because you offer absolutely nothing to the discussion except promoting your favorite porn website.
Do you know what "i.e." means? Apparently you don't. The author's reference is either a deliberate attempt to mislead or he is just stupid. Or both.
"Harmful to minors" is much vaguer than "sex materials"
Exactly. Which is why COPA keeps losing at every court level.
Actually Joe, you wish I would ignore them because I am very efficeint at exposing your LIES and decemating your arguments.
So, I will ask again. You contend, as fact that porn is ILLEGAL. How can Vivid Entertainment, one of the largest producers and distributors of porn on the planet be traded on the NYSE if its business is ILLEGAL?
And, for those just joining us, despite the misdirections and strawmen of the theocrats and fanatics you'll shortly see, we are once again discussing LEGAL, MAINSTREAM PORNOGRAPHY, produced and consumed by consenting adults, often in the privacy of their own homes. NO ONE in these debates has suggested that kiddie porn, bestiality porn, or coerced and forced porn should ever be legal or anything other than the abominations they are.
Long Cut need not disprove it. The Supreme Court did.
When did I say that porn is illegal?
To: Melas
Filming an act of prostitution doesn't make it legal.

Have you or have you not said that producing porn is a criminal act and those who view it are accesories to the crime?
And is a crime an illegal act?
The abbreviation i.e. (i.e., that is) is often confused with other abbreviations (e.g., e.g.). The i.e. generally is used to introduce matter that is explanatory as opposed to being the name of an example or list of examples. If you can say for example as a substitute for the abbreviation, you want to use e.g., not i.e. - SOURCEIn any case, it's a minor mistake.

Pornography is nothing but filmed prostitution. It should be completely banned.
Those who purchase, distribute or recieve pornography are aiding and abetting a crime.
All pornography should be siezed as contraband and destroyed once it is no longer needed as evidence.

"Porn is nothing but filmed prostitution. Watching it makes you an accessory to a crime." -- Tailgunner Joe
from post #174 from "The Pornography Plague" thread.
My position on the distribution and possession of the filmed criminal acts are that they should be illegal.
Furthermore, there is nothing in the First Amendment which would render such a law unconstitutional, since obscene material is not protected by the First Amendment.
Or, after 3 days of kicking your teeth kicked in are you ready to admit that there is nothing illegal about producing, distributing, and owning porn?
To: Poohbah
There's nothing new about the government's power to ban pornography.
If you read the article you'd know that obscene material is already illegal, but the law is not being enforced because of the moral breakdown in society caused by the left's immoral relativity.

As in the 3-D world you elitist thought control types amuse me . I admit that but fear not my friend . I suspect you and I shall cross each other soon enough .
In any case, it's a minor mistake
Ah, yes. Totally misrepresenting or lying about what the statute says for the sake of propping up a losing argument is just a "minor mistake".
And you never said porn was illegal.
What other lessons are you taking from Bill Clinton?
I'm jumping in the shower!
The fact that this does not occur is not because it is not a crime, but that the law is not being enforced.
