An ambassador, in Sir Henry Wootton's famous dictum, is a good man sent abroad to lie for his country. This ambassador came home to lie to his. And the Dems and the media helped him do it.

Yow!

"Wilson's Web site, restorehonesty.com, was still wholly paid for by Kerry's presidential campaign..."

This alone, in light of the latest reports vindicating the President, should warrant further review by the press.

How can anyone today deny that media bias exists?

IANAL but I'd think that his sworn testimony to the 9-11 commission circus and the Senate Intelligence Committee should be sufficient grounds for a perjury prosecution.

Along the Yellowcake Palme-Wilson-Nepotism-Axis:
Kerry's Operative, Wilson: "I met and married this CIA agent next to me,
who first exposed her CIA background and revealed her assets to me on our second hot date.
But then, like my boss John Kerry, she did not."

Another typically great Styne column. My only quibble is with the headline...suckered the Dems? Suckered the media? BS. Wilson, the Dems and the media all knew what they were doing. The only people being played for suckers were the American people and the Republicans. If you ask me, the Republicans are still acting like suckers. Why aren't they raising holy hell about this? This Sunday on the morning news shows, why doesn't every Republican guest directly ask the host why Joe Wilson isn't on to explain himself and why no nightly newscast except for NBC has mentioned Wilson's lies? I'll tell you why...because Republicans are suckers, stuck on defense when they should be on offence.

But it turns out JOE WILSON LIED! PEOPLE DIED. Of embarrassment mostly. At least I'm assuming that's why the New York Times, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, PBS drone Bill Moyers and all the other media bigwigs Joseph C. Wilson IV suckered have fallen silent on the subject of the white knight of integrity they've previously given the hold-the-front-page treatment, too.

Joe Wilson lied about whether Iraq was attempting to buy yellow-cake uranium .......and about everything else concerning the whole mess I would imagine....Joe Wilson, THE liar, along with the ever compliant johnfkerry and the whole media establishment were all accusing Bush of being a liar -- now that the Senate report is out and wilson is outed it's not worth printing in headlines on every front page in America???? YOU had better get up to speed 'cause your local paper will not be spreading the truth.

What is particularly stunning is how the media boosted him without even giving the matter a second glance. This means that either the media is as evil as Wilson, or so thoroughly incompetent they should all be dismissed. Of course, they won't be because the people who own the media are corrupt.

Too bad there isn't some way to assure that if we are struck by the terrorist again, only the idiots will die. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. You and I will die along with them.

To summarize: Bush claimed in the State of Union speech that British intelligence showed Saddam was seeking yellowcake. His 16 words created the furor because Wilson stepped up to say HE was the man sent there to verify this fact and in fact Bush lied to buffer his agenda.

We now see who actually was lieing to buffer whose agenda, and it was not Bush....as 6 independant intelligence reports verify. Case closed. Wilson is a son of a bitch (if Steyn can write it, so can I) So are the Democrats in Washington. So is the prostitute old media. Despicable. The incident would be very sad if it weren't so serious.

The media controls what is aired. And morning shows are recorded. That is why they air at different times in different cities. If someone says something the media doesn't like they don't air it.

They don't attack like Democrats because the media won't air it!!!!

Two things...

First, I'm wondering if Wilson can be indicted for intentionally creating an intelligence failure when there wasn't one. Afterall, his claiming that Iraq's attempts to buy uranium were false put everyone's life in jeopardy. By spreading lies that Saddam hadn't tried to gain "yellowcake," it helped create a false sense of security in the country. It also put President Bush's life even more in jeopardy because the President was painted as a liar and a deceiver to the whole world. Frankly, I think there might be some law on the books that would apply to Mr. Wilson. The guy is a security risk run amok. Like Saddam, he's his own WMD.

Second, I went to the Wilson website (http://restorehonesty.com/) and sent the following email to Joe:

Thanks Joe! For the ball-faced lies. For selling a bill of goods that turned out to be false. For creating an intelligence failure when there wasn't one. For being a superb rip-off artist. You'll go down in history with the Times' Jayson Blair and the famous P.T. Barnum. I'm sure your wife enjoys going to work everyday, and having people point fingers at her saying: "She's the one married to that snake oil salesman." Hope you've got some money stashed for a rainy day, because although I'm no meteorologist, I can see some stormy days ahead for you son. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Maybe Teresa Heinz-Kerry could hire you as an investigator for her 57 overseas Heinz factories.

I signed it in full, but have left my name off to post here.

**Major Wanke's prime minister, among others, told Ambassador Wilson that he believed Iraq wanted yellowcake. And Ambassador Wilson told the CIA. And the CIA's report agreed with the British and the Europeans that "Iraq was attempting to procure uranium from Africa."

**In his ludicrously vain memoir The Politics Of Truth, Wilson plays up his knowledge of the country. He makes much of his intimacy with Wanke and gives himself the credit for ridding Niger of the Wanke regime. The question then is why a man who knew so much about what was going on chose deliberately to misrepresent it to all his media/ Democrat buddies, not to mention to the American people. For a book called The Politics Of Truth, it's remarkably short of it. On page 2, Wilson says of his trip to Niger: "I had found nothing to substantiate the rumors." But he had. **

^^^^

Ambassador Wilson went to Niger in 2002, came back and told the CIA in 2002 that Iraq HAD attempted to buy yellow cake. Then he wrote an Op-ed published in the New York Times in June 2003 stating that President Bush lied when he said the famous 16 words in the January 2003 State of the Union speech, because he found NO evidence that Iraq had attempted to buy yellowcake in Niger.

It really does not take a conspiracy theorist to see that between January and June of 2003 someone approached ol' Amb Wilson and made him an offer he wouldn't refuse. I will never believe that he decided to go public with testimony that was 180° opposite to his OWN report to the CIA without external persuasion.

It had to be bribe or threat. He is such a slime ball that a hint of an invitation to the Hillary circle might have been enough.

Since we now all know that a memo exists from Valerie Plame recommending her husband for the assignment, and Novak's column referred to a Bush Administration official as the source of her name, I'm wondering if it isn't possible that someone at the CIA outted her to Novak. The CIA was being fingered for alot of intelligence failures. This was just another one. But perhaps someone at the CIA was a little tired of the organization being the scapegoat, and decided to advance the tidbit that eventually brought Wilson down.

They are very sensitive to that word, and have tried everything they know how to do, to pin that label on President Bush. Unfortunately for them, he is one of the most principled men to have held the office of the president.

Lying is a normal tactic for them so they simply cannot believe that W doesn't lie.

Kind of makes you want to laugh when these papers/news networks claim they have to have more than one verifiable source in order to print a story.
