Israel is a tiny nation, roughly half the size of Lake Michigan. Its population is roughly half the size of the New York metropolitan area. Despite being a Jewish state, more than twenty percent of its residents are Arab and most Jews in Israel describe themselves as secular rather than religious.
Yet if one were to read world press accounts or daily condemnations from the United Nations or the recent decision of the ICJ criticizing the construction of the fence, you might conclude that Israel is a world power intent on destabilizing Middle East affairs.
Why, it might well be postulated, does the world resent this speck of land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean?
Although my comments are speculative, I suspect they could be borne out empirically if historical accounts were fair and objective.
Israel is a thorn in the side of the Arab world because it is a remarkable technological phantasmagoria. Almost every Israeli is engaged in a software scheme. The Jews in this arid nation have made the deserts bloom; they have converted brain power into technical marvels and consequent wealth.
By contrast every nearby Arab nation is dysfunctional. Their governments are tyrannical; the people are poor and uneducated and local officials have been unwilling to convert oil revenue into social benefits.

Israel survives and improves against all odds. Everybody hates a winner, because it wasn't them.
Is it really possible to answer this question?
It would take volumes to approach something close a comprehensive historical analysis.

If you examine it from a Biblical world view: Israel was intended to be God's chosen people through which the Messiah was to come. The Old Testament is replete with stories whereby they endured horrific wars & exile but God miraculously preserved the Messianic bloodline many times and viola' Jesus the Christ was born - Hence the New testament.
Though it was God's original plan being worked through human elements, when the Jewish Leaders demanded Jesus's death and swore 'His blood be on us and our children' it was the dumbest thing in history imho; this invoked the curse whereby not only has Satan's minions has targeted Israel for destruction because of Messiah, but those fateful words did more harm as well.

All through history cultures have tried to annihilate Israel.
They cannot succeed.
The reason is spiritual warfare.
Everything in the Bible has come true so far. HISstory shows that those who protect Israel prosper , those that try to destroy her fall to ruin
It is always demonic influence. Talk to any Jew hater and you will discover that the arguments are insane.
I don't think it's about anti-Jewishness with all due respect although there is a bit of that especially in the areas of Muslim influence obviously.
I think many parts of the world including the third world, leftist Europe and here simply loathe strength and the will to use it.
The many Jews on the left here in the US who are ambivalent about Israel don't hate their Jewish cousins there. They just don't like the way they behave. It's not Tikkun Olam enough for overly idealistic American Jews who have grown soft.

As long as Arab leaders can point to the great and might Oz, their rabble will not pay attention to that man behind the curtain.
Why were moslem militants able to demonize teh USA? Because the USA never fought back. The usa was a safe target and an occasional attack brought no consequences. (cole, embassies, etc...)
Europeans discriminated against Jews for a long time, killing millions of them. It galls Europe that Jews can succeed as a nation, and become a force that even Europe should respect and fear. Naturally, I support Israel.
Exactly. Those who don't understand God and His people, and the hatred of the Devil and the lost world against Israel, will never comprehend what is happening today.
As others have posted, Jew hatred is irrational and insane, psychopathic, and likely has it roots in the spiritual realm. I am always amazed when jew hatred springs up in people I know, right out of the blue.
Shortly after 911, an airliner went down in flames on the east coast. Everyone expected it was because of more terrorism. We were all still very anxious because of 911 and and the incident brought back the fears of that day. My friend suddenly broke into a frenzy of jew hatred, saying that we would not have this mess if it wasn't for them....that the islamic radicals would leave us alone save for Israel and the Jews.
I lit into him with logic and reason that denied his ridiculous claim and we almost came to blows. Our friendship has never been the same since....he still hates jews. Insane!
As to Israel's enemies, they should know from history, that Israel "will outlast them all"!
Nope. The main reason is that Islam owns Indonesia, most of Africa, the Middle East, France and England.

Indeed, and someone wrote a few months ago in a Jewish newspaper, that Americans are the new Jews. Hated by the world for the same reasons Israel is.
