"What is this judge thinking?!?!?!?!"

Well, we're using the term "thinking" here very loosely.

Like most liberals, he's under the misconception that he will not personally suffer any consequences of his policies.

If there is a God, it'll be his arse that the bad guys will plant their "package" under when it blows sky-high.

Will the same ruling be applied at the rat convention? No need to worry at the rat convention. They are safe. The terrorists won't attack their own.

that seemed to indicate they would be searching backpacks in Boston

Which begs the question..why there, and not in NYC?

This is a judge who has had a running battle with individual rights and drugs - he is on the side of individual rights. Mayor Bloomberg should appeal this ruling; Judge Sweet clearly has his battles mixed up.

You can't get into a football or baseball game in our area without a bag check.

You can't carry a backpack into Yankee Stadium but you can carry one, unquestioned, to a primary soft target...beautiful.

Impeach this judge! There is a specific threat or is this left-winger too old to remember 9-11? Why then do they search bags when I fly, or go to an event? Something is wrong here why would a federal judge support possible terrorist?

They do here in Dallas, for sure. (Even in Garland...Dallas suburb.) You walk thru a metal detector and your bag goes thru the x-ray.

Hey, this judge is doing nothing less than sending us a signal that he is in the pay of the Afghan drug lords.

Seems to me there'd be no problem whatsoever picking him up for an extended stay in Guantanamo.

This is not the same thing. You are volantering to allow the bag search as part of the agreement for admission. In this case the bags were searched by people on the street without their agreement. This was a good ruling based on the very little information in this article.

Appeal, overrule, to Heck with that.

Just tell him to shove it and do the right thing. If the police and the mayor showed some loyalty, he wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

And the more noise he made, the closer he would come to impeachment.

Liberalism is of and from Satan. You can count on liberals to act like that.

Somewhere between

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
and
The Constitution is not a suicide pact.
there has to be a better outcome than what this judge found.

Someone needs to go get this judge and bring him to downtown NYC everyday of the convention for him to "wait and see" for himself........
