Lanny Davis was on natioal news earlier today saying that the leak right before the Democratic Convention just had to be politically motivated.

Lanny could very well be right.

Bill Clinton said today that he'd known about the federal probe on Berger for months. If he knew, many others on the Left knew as well..Hillary, Bruce Lindsey, Kerry, etc. I don't believe for one minute that the Kerry Campaign didn't know about this investigation.

We all recall how Clinton Admin. put bad news out, for instance, on a Friday, as a preemptive strike. My hope and guess is that Ashcroft close to charging McBergler, but someone close to BC was the leaker. Thus every desparate democrat can go to convention and claim what you said, and avoid the fact their candidate is a full fledged incompetent boob.

I heard Lanny Davis and he was down playing Berger's crime. He more or less called it a "mistake".
