gettin very hard these days to listen to music...with all my favorite singers being so verbal about their politics.
There is a BBS website I used to hang out at, called VS Planet, in the "other topics" forum... I had to stop posting there, due to the annoying lefty posts of 90 % of all the musicians...
why are most musicians so childish?

All the money I'm saving by not buying music and going to the movies, I can send more money to the Republican Party.

We need to remember that socialism/communism is a modern form of aristocracy and that all these entertainers believe that in a socialist order they would be allowed to remain part of the aristocracy. All of the energy saving, apartment living, public transportation, inferior government-provided health care, is for EVERYONE ELSE. The elite would retain their privileges.

Good question. A better question is why are they such dim wits.

Sorry, Emmylou has come out against Bush, though she does it with more class than most of the others.

all these entertainers believe that in a socialist order they would be allowed to remain part of the aristocracy They would be, so long as they continue to parrot the party line.

We're gonna sing this for George Bush because he's out of here, people!" Raitt crowed Tuesday night before she launched into the opening licks of "Your Good Thing (Is About to End), I can't make you love me (if you don't),~ There. That looks better.

Bonnie Raitt?
Oh, the skanky leftist who thinks she's a blues singer.
Well, Bonnie, I love blues music. Blues music is a friend of mine. And you're no KoKo Taylor, no Billie Holliday, no Etta James, hell, you're not even as good as Gladys Knight.

I think she's GREAT when she does slow rock like "Luck of the Draw" and "I Can't Make You Love Me," but when she gets in her "funk" groove (which is most of her material), I think she's mediocre and boring.
To: randog
And how much energy does it take to transport a recording artist, her entourage (musicians, roadies, various toadies and attendants), and her equipment across the country/world so that she can sing about how the rest of us really ought to quit wasting energy? G-d, these idiotic, arrogant pricks really do live in a bubble, don't they? Bing-bing-bing-bing-bing!!!!!
EXACTLY!! Amazing how their policies only apply to us.
To: O.C. - Old Cracker
Then she should go play her guitar in Cuba for Castro, and leave Americans alone.

And I'm dedicating this limerick to Raitt, white trash whore that she is:
There once was a lass from th'Azores
Whose crotch was covered with sores.
The dogs of the street
Wouldn't eat the green meat
That hung in festoons from her drawers!
