Bonnie Raitt is no Johnny-Come-Lately....she's been around since the no-nukes days and she has ALWAYS been politically active. You know when you go to a Bonnie Raitt concert she will talk politics. She sponsors and donates her receipts to charities. She is up front about it. There is nothing that will stop me from listening to or going to a Bonnie Raitt concert. She is, IMO, the most talented female performer out there and has been for a very long time. And, I respect her for being UP FRONT about her politics.

A Damn good slide player and former heroin addict. Too bad she kicked. It seems so many of the performers I once enjoyed have gone off the deep end. Well, I'll never buy another thing by her or Ronstadt whom I DID idolize. F them both.

You're free to subsidize any Marxist socialist or fifth columnist that suits your fancy. No one is stopping you.

Louis Armstrong, while playing at London's Palladium, with King George V in attendance, made a grinning bow to the royal box, saying "This one's for you, Rex." He then proceeded to play, "I'll be Glad When You're Dead, You Rascal, You."

About what? Raitt's singing? I said I am very fond of some her stuff (the slow rock stuff), but find the "funk" stuff boring. I love her voice, but don't like a lot of her material. I can say that about a lot of people. I thought Tom Jones had a great voice, one of the best pop voices ever, but his material did nothing for me. At any rate, how can my reaction to music be "wrong"? What we like and dislike is very subjective. Somewhere, there's somebody with a shrine to Bobby Goldsboro in their living room.

I think I understand that the word 'REX' is latin for 'king', but unless you're going to make me research it, what is the point of your reference?

Watta shame. I always liked her music, but that was before I realized just how much of a commie she is.I wouldn't buy anything of hers anymore, and I don't listen to the tapes I have of her anymore either. Time to take out the trash.

"How embarrassing will it be when Bush is re-elected in such an overwhelming number that all these people who have been bad-mouthing Bush end up disgraced

Nah, they'll just do what Cher did after the election and chirp "Where are all my gay friends? Why didn't they all vote?"

I've been a lifelong fan and I can appreciate her music and still think her ideas as stupid. In fact, if you were to ask me if I could have anyone's voice in the world, it would be Bonnie Raitt. So...there you go.

This is a good thing! I have so many old records and cassettes! One by one as the 60's nuts float back up from the deep, I can just toss 'em out in protest!

This seems to be the way to get your name back in the paper. Did anyone hear from Charles Manson yet? Or Iron Butterfly?

Do pigs wallow in mud? Either way, they'd rather mud wrestle their way into hog heaven.
