I could use some prayers from my fellow FR Prayer Warriors. A little over a year ago, I had dislocated my knee cap. The doctor said if it happened again, they would have to go in and anchor it down. Well, yesterday it completely blew out. Just as I was standing up, my knee just "went" and my knee cap ended up on the outside of my leg. It stayed like that for 3 hours. I had to go to the hospital in an ambulance and it took the ER doctor 3 attempts of trying to jam it back into place to get it back into the front of my leg. I am resigned to the fact that I will need surgery. But this time there looks to be a lot more damage then the first time. I will be going to an orthopedic surgeon next week and I would like prayers that I haven't done any major damage to any of my major ligaments. Also for easing of the pain (pain meds do not work on me at all) and swelling and pressure to subside quickly. Thank you!!! And God Bless!

I've experienced some similar knee problems in the past that I thought were the result of a sports injury, but turned out to be caused by a minor defect in the way my legs grew as a kid (basically, one of my kneecaps doesn't quite line up properly). No surgery was required, and I learned that a rigorous exercise program will go a long way toward minimizing any future problems.
Good luck, and keep me posted on this -- I'd be interested to see how it gets resolved.

Here is to hoping that what damage you did can be corrected with therapy and rest. However, if they have to scope it, be religious with the therapy. It really does help (even at the expense of wanting to kill your therapist!)
(I blew my knee in a basketball game in '89, and didn't have it scoped at the time. I paid dearly 7 months later!)
