Posted on 07/26/2004 7:41:11 PM PDT by Bob J
The last few months I've seen an increasing trend for FReepers to start going for each others jugular. Sometimes we forget (I've certainly done it myself) that in the grand scheme of things, we are on the same team. We may disagree on priorities or how far we are willing to go, but we have enough enemy in the left without creating more amongst ourselves. We can disagree but be civil to each other. We can debate nuance, but not believe that our personal positions are more important than the health of the whole. Let's argue vigorously but remind ourselves the guy whose trachia we are ripping out today may be sitting next to us in a foxhole tommorrow.
I'm going to propose that we all make a new start. Let's put all past differences behind us and resolve to band together and fight the good fight, the elimination of liberalism as a significant culturual influence in America...and see that to its end in our lifetimes.
If you agree, please post your thoughts and ping your lists and your friends to this thread.
I am sorry for all the bad things I have ever done, and all the bad things I might do, I want to be a good girl, I really do.
GO POUND SAND.
And we know this HOW?! Seems like the true DISRUPTORS get ZOTTED mighty quick around here. In fact, I believe there've been a boatload of folks who were needlessly ZOTTED for posting controversial opinions. If this New Age of Courtesy leads to a decrease in unnecessary ZOTS, the Forum will be better off because of it.
Ditto. I'll post later. BUMP
So does Laz.
de debil made me do it.

Here's my appology for anything I've ever written, said or thought. And for anything I might do or say, or write in
the future that may in any way offend anyone. I am sorry
if anyone is offended, not sorry for my opinions.
Maybe.......maybe not. I do not care if anything is
spelled right or not. The spell checker intimidates me.
"RATS think Slick's good-lookin', but in Jail, Slick Shall SQUEEEEEAL!! "
Not true. I want to be a sock monkey wot rides a chicken.
Offending folks here and there is almost impossible to avoid on a discussion Forum such as this, but BobJ's correct about some folks' willingness to go fer the jugular of someone with a different opinion, instead of just agreeing to disagree on a particular issue and parting as FRiends. Fer instance, a one-time FReeper FRiend--and well-respected poster--blasted me the other day as a "Moby/Troll" becuz I haven't bowed properly in front of the BushGod...it was over the top and wouldda really bothered a less thick-skinned FReeper. I'm not sure how his outburst furthered his cause, though.
I avoid flame wars, which is why I for the most part stay away from threads involving religion, Civil War, diets and bicycling.
Yeah, two opponents the press barely recognized, and Blunt felt it beneath his royalness to dirty his hands with debating said opponents.
This time, there's four opponents, however, and one of them is a rich - for this area - attorney. Maybe this time Blunt won't take his job for granted. It's time he stopped looking at his perpetual re-elections as an entitlement.
