Of interest... the National Anthem will NOT be sung in English tonight.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ SNORE!

Senator Ted Kennedy adjusts his glasses during a sound check in preparation for a speech later in the day at the Democratic National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts on July 27, 2004. Democrats shift gears on Tuesday on their convention's second night, as John Kerry (news - web sites)'s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, shows a personal side of the White House hopeful and the son of a Republican icon, Ron Reagan Jr., and Kennedy take a turn at the podium. REUTERS/Rick Wilking US ELECTION
the National Anthem will NOT be sung in English tonight.
the democrats are just so diverse.....LOL
Alternative Title:
***This is the LIVE THREAD ping list; if you want ON or OFF, please Freepmail me.
Over here.
HONORABLE????!!!! Those Senators, etc. mentioned??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I'm here
I wonder if it was be as boring as last night's convention
I am counting on excellent play-by-play from all of you in the early part of the evening, because I won't be back until 8PM or so.
Allegra, I am pinging you for Day Two coverage. (Sorry I thought you were a guy. I should have known a guy wouldn't pick the name "Allegra!")
I watched some of it last night. The lies went on and on and on. How do they get away with this crap?
I was for the DNC convention before I was against it : )
what then? Arabic?
I just can't do it!...I saw Hillary walk on stage and that was all I could bear last night.
This lineup reads like the guest list at the annual Betty Ford Clinic reunion
Thanks for the ping. Stayed up til 4:00 AM doing a column on Day 1 of this circus. Today should be better.
I might have to miss some of the beginning today--need to run errands.
I wonder if they'll play that "John Kerry keeps on tryin'" thingy set to the tune of "Proud Mary"?
Oooh - three of my favorites!!! What was it Alice Longworth Roosevelt had embroidered on a pillow: "If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!"
Howlin, thanks for the ping ;-)
BUMPing for later join-in, after work.
Well..post a link to it!...Would love to read it!
Sounds Irish.
I am just back from outside the Fleet Center, and it is a GHOST town out there. A few people walking around, enough black metal fencing to hold an army, Secret Service lunching in Hooters.
The Dems seem concentrated around Faneuil Hall. Three trucks drive by with gigantic photos of aborted fetuses on them, with a guy talking over a speaker about this being what Kerry-Edwards are promoting. A large woman with DNC credentials started screaming "SCREW YOU!" and "That's disgusting!"
My friend and I were surrounded by young white men asking if we wanted to get John Kerry elected--I think I horrified my buddy when I said very loudly "NO!" but the Dems were good natured about it and I said thank you.
I might go back later with my video cam and see if anything exciting goes on around prime time.
I just wish I was able to find some Bush pins but I don't even know how to contact the Bush campaign in Boston. :(

This should prove to be an interesting evening.
I think it's in honor of Kerry's O'oompa Loompa outfit:
LOL!
Do you have any info on the gigantic flip flops that were waving behind Chris Matthews last evening? That was fabulous! They appeared to be 8 feet tall.
I thought that was the DNC banner. My bust.
I assume that is an Indian tribe?
LOL .. that was pretty bad
Teddy Kennedy, Ron Reagan and Teresa Heinz tonight. TRIPLE BARF ALERT.
Yes. Formerly known as the Papago.

Todd Oldham designs for Target and La-Z-Boy/
Great description and evaluation of Day One. Now pardon me while I head over to dictionary.com. (somnambulant)
;-)
Can anyone tell me what being a soldier for 4 months 30 years ago has to do with being leader of the free world?????
WHAT? What is it going to be sung in??
There There .. it will be ok
We'll report on the happening *L*
I agree .. Hellary was hard to take last night
The demonrats were so hateful last night, I was surprised that the secret service were'nt called in to investigate.
If you think last night was bad, the real loonies will be on tonight!
Any Democratic event reminds me of the bar scene from Star Wars.
(photo)
LOL!
The only notable mention of homeland security was Bills support of Kerrys plan to defend against future attacks by increasing funding for first responders. The left doesnt believe in pre-emptive strikes but theyll sure be ready when it comes to treating the wounded. Democrats apparently feel that the best offense is a good defense.
CRACK!!! Out of the park!
Dick Morris just said on Fox polling shows a 4 point bounce after last night and that they only got a 2 point bounce after the first night in '96.
Time to run errands.

BTW, strength and wisdom are not values, they are traits. You cannot choose to embrace them, you either got em or you don't and these clowns have neither.
This is from a synopsis of a recent episode of The O.C.:
Over at the Cohens', Topic A is still Theresa. Have they told her mother? No, not yet, says Ryan. Theresa worries that'll make it feel too real. Sandy promises Ryan that the Cohens will be there for them every step of the way. Theresa comes home and asks to speak to Ryan outside. Say, Ryan, did you ever see the episode of Maude where Maude gets the abortion? You're not ready for this. Theresa's not ready for this. So she's not going to have the baby.
The next morning, Seth suggests a trip down to the docks to take the S.S. Summer for a spin. Ryan looks off into the distance, as he's known to do, and Seth wonders why he isn't more relived about Theresa's decision. It's, you know, complicated. Over in the pool house, Kirsten pops in on Theresa. Would she like Kirsten to tag along to Planned Parenthood tomorrow? She sure would.
Julie comes out and tells Jimmy he shouldn't be here with Caleb coming home soon and the sniping is underway. Jimmy is with Hailey because he can't have Kirsten, Julie is a shameless gold digger, Hailey is a former stripper and coke whore, Caleb is a criminal.
More so..tonight is dedicated to Teddy Kennedy.
That's precisely it. LOL
