Dreyfuss called Bush ``arrogant and incompetent'' Arrogant for not kow towing to the French? If my name were Dreyfuss, I don't think I'd put much stock in what the French government says. Perhaps he forgets how his great uncle was treated by the French government.

``I wasn't raised in
America, and I wouldn't be comfortable in it,'' Dreyfuss said. ``In this America, you point toward a sin and you are pointed at. You are the irritant not the gatekeeper. You smell funny -- sinister funny. Terrorist-friendly. You mention due process and the silence is not respectful, it is ominous.''
All Republicans have been: evil, cruel, stupid, corrupt, big business, hate the little guy, etc.
SO, Please insert name: Richard M. Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. Bush, George W. Bush

This guy is incoherent Totally, but all the dems will slobber over his 'insightful' comment. Unless a script is before him he apparently can only say words, not actually put a meaningful sentence together.

Yeah. Just what I was thinking. Can't have thoughtfulness as an enemy if the two of you never crossed paths...

And Clinton was most thoughtful when he lied under oath about his relationship with Monica in the Paula Jones case.
Well I endured eight years under him as President.

The delegates gave him a standing ovation, which led Dreyfuss to give a few last remarks, urging them to counter the Republicans' every attack and ``be consistent and in their face.''
---this little puke, this jerk stabbed other actors in the back behind their backs to spielberg to get the role in "close encounters." you don't want to get in our faces putz.

You are the irritant not the gatekeeper. You smell funny -- sinister funny. Terrorist-friendly. You mention due process and the silence is not respectful, it is ominous.'' Mr. Dreyfus, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things that I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent reponse were you even close to anything that can be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul

Gee, I guess this means I can't see any more Richard Dreyfuss films. Does he even make them anymore? Last one I remember was Krippendorf's Tribe. That was a winner.

Apparently there is an unwritten rule in Hollyweird that if you are washed up and no one gives a poo poo about your "work" anymore, bash Bush and you're lame career will be resurrected....for as long as the libs can get something from you, then it's back to the old stars home.

AS near as I can tell, this actor seems to think that the President is somehow responsible for the acts of the terrorists - it's nutty.

The other actor favorite line/phrase is using "cypto facist" in a sentence, alluding to the Republicans, no doubt.
John Cusack is famous for this. Interestingly, he is, in large part, mimicking a line from one of his movies where the line actually made partial sense.
If this is what passes for intelligent thought in liberal circles, then it is, indeed, quite sad for them.
