"It's disappointing that John Kerry's frank talk stopped with a discussion of his complexities and failed to include an explanation of his inconsistencies and contradictions on the central front in the War on Terror. John Kerry missed an opportunity to help the American people understand his vote for the war in Iraq based on the same intelligence that the President viewed, his description of himself as an anti-war candidate and his subsequent vote against troops on the front lines. He's right, America can do better."
Even before John Kerry has spoken, he is working to distort his own record and the President's. He is engaged in an extreme makeover of his out of the mainstream record.
My fellow Americans, this is the most important election of our lifetime. The stakes are high. We are a nation at war -- a global war on terror against an enemy unlike any we have ever known before. And here at home, wages are falling, health care costs are rising, and our great middle class is shrinking. People are working weekends; they're working two jobs, three jobs, and they're still not getting ahead.
BusinessWeek: Economy Creating More High-Paying Jobs Than Low-Paying Jobs. "According to BusinessWeek's analysis, 40% of American workers belong to occupation/industry groups where the median pay is $559 a week or more. Yet employment growth in those higher-paying groups accounted for well over half of total job growth during the past year. Average monthly employment in the higher-paying groups was 744,000 higher in the 12 months ended in June, 2004, than in the previous 12-month period. By contrast, only 408,000 jobs were added in groups whose median pay was $553 a week or less, even though they account for 52% of total jobs." ("Another Look At Those Job Numbers," BusinessWeek, 7/26/04)

Kerry Voted 98 Times For Tax Increases Totaling More Than $2.3 Trillion.
Kerry Voted At Least 126 Times Against Tax Cuts Totaling More Than $5.3 Trillion.
Kerry Has Voted 73 Times To Reduce The Size Of A Tax Cut.
Kerry Voted 67 Times For Smaller Tax Cuts (Democrat Alternatives).
Kerry Voted 11 Times Against Repealing Tax Hikes.
We can do better and we will. We're the optimists. For us, this is a country of the future. We're the can do people. And let's not forget what we did in the 1990s. We balanced the budget. We paid down the debt. We created 23 million new jobs. We lifted millions out of poverty and we lifted the standard of living for the middle class. We just need to believe in ourselves -- and we can do it again.

Kerry Says America Is "In The Worst Job Recovery Since The Great Depression." (Sen. John Kerry, "Statement by John Kerry on New Jobs Numbers," Press Release, 5/7/04)
As president, I will ask hard questions and demand hard evidence. I will immediately reform the intelligence system - so policy is guided by facts, and facts are never distorted by politics. And as president, I will bring back this nation's time-honored tradition: the United States of America never goes to war because we want to, we only go to war because we have to.
Kerry Was On Senate Select Intelligence Committee For Eight Years (1993-2000).
bump for later...
received this in my email:
To all American voters...
I am a senior citizen. During the Clinton administration I had an extremely good and well paying job. I took numerous vacations and had several vacation homes. Since President Bush took office, I have watched my entire life change for the worse.
I lost my job, two sons in that terrible Iraqi war, my home, my health insurance and as a matter of fact, I lost virtually became homeless.
Adding insult to injury, when the authorities found me living like an animal, instead of helping me, they arrested me!
I will do anything to insure President Bush's defeat in the next election.
I will do anything that Senator Kerry wants to insure that a Democrat is back in the White House come next year.
Bush has to go! I just thought you and your listeners would like to know how one senior citizen views the Bush administration.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
THat's gonna leave a mark :-)
Was this information discussed in detail on any of the network morning news shows?
Will this entire analysis appear in major weekly mags such as Time, Newsweek, Business Week, etc.?
This is great stuff, but without prompt, detailed, dissemination and a regularly repeated basis - it's impact will be minimal.
What occured during the dim's convention was this: those who are against the President remain so. They will vote! They will vote for a dog, a flower pot, an air filter, a piece of concrete, or kerry; anything or anyone just so long as it's not President Bush.
Those of us who support the President will support him. We will do so because it is the right thing to do, because we admire straight talk, definitive action, moral certainty, team building, and the ability to stand tall in the face of a long struggle. I do hope we vote in greater numbers than the dims come November.
Where this fine and factual analysis needs to go is into the hands of the "undecided voter". How to get it there without liberal media spin and obfuscation is the trick.
And I don't have a good answer for that.
Thanks for catching this and sharing.
RNC: Response Great article. Thanks for posting this RWR8189.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.
Excellent anti-Kerry video laying out the VietNam case against him...
Great to forward and spread to the public.
Kerrys FITREPs are awash in dings, and some of the reports border on the adverse, particularly his combat FITREPs. The FITREPs convey significant performance problems and suggest problems in conduct, so much so that it is surprising that the campaign chose to release them. This may suggest that the FITREPs held from public view are even more adverse.
In what would customarily be an opportunity for a glowing swan song FITREP, the Commanding Officer of USS Gridley (DLG-21) tacitly blasts Kerry on his departure for Swift Boat duty by ranking him significantly below the norm in desirability for virtually every Navy assignment possible - command, staff, whatever. He is a ship handler who is dinged in ship handling. He is in line for command, but his CO doesnt want him near the bridge. He is slammed in all performance areas - most notably and significantly in initiative and reliability. The nice narrative emphasizes performance in collateral duties, but in the grades and marks, the CO is telling the selection board and detailer loud and clear that this officer is lazy, unreliable and not suited for command. 3 SEP 68 (W.E. HARPER).
It made me laugh when Kerry saluted and said reporting for duty. I thought yes but you've been AWOL from the senate and yet you receive your pay anyway!! I wonder if he's thought about donating the pay he has received(that he doesn't deserve) to the military?
As I said last night on the live thread, Kerry's speech was like speechwriter's welfare for the guys at the RNC.
Thanks for the ping!
Being a member in the Senate he knows full well that President Bush did not lie to the American people about the Weapons of Mass Destruction before the war. He knows the classified and unclassified details of both the Senate Intelligence Report and the 9/11 Commission. Both of these Commissions were very heavily staffed by partisan Democrats who had an agenda to damage the President. People like Ben Venista, Gorelick and Bob Kerry who were definitely looking to make the President and his administration into liars. Both Commissions not only did not find any lying by the President or his administration, but could not find any pressure put on the CIA or the FBI by any Administration member. They found the Bush Administration made sure that the CIA worked in complete objectivity to the facts as they were known. The Commissions both found that the President was completely innocent of misconduct in this very serious matter. There was no lying from the President George W Bush Administration.
What this means is either the two Senate Commissions are lying or John Kerry is lying. Since John Kerry knows everything the Commission knows and his staff has briefed him before putting in his acceptance speech that the President misled the Country, then the Commissions must be lying in their reports. For John Kerry to be telling the truth when he calls the President a liar is that he knows something that substantiates that statement. Perhaps he can give proof that the President of the United States lied to the American People. Absence that, John Kerry can give proof that the two Senate Commissions wrote false reports to the American People. If not then John Kerry is lying to the American people. According to the facts that have been found on a bi-partisan basis the Truth is, John Kerry is the liar.
Do we need another President that is willing to lie to get elected? If he can lie about a President of The United States telling a monstrous lie, then he can easily lie about cutting your taxes or staying the course in the War on Terror. In a World were the enemy is doing every thing it can to kill a million Americans, we cannot afford to play dangerous games with our countrys security. We cannot afford politicians who will say or do anything to get elected only to find out they were not telling the Truth. This is a time when words mean something and the Truth is all that matters. This is a dangerous World right now and we need a President of principle and integrity and that is what we have in the White House right now. Vote Bush!
Pray for W and Our Troops
Wow, great talking points. I'm making a copy of this and keeping it for when Bush bashers rear their heads......
Kerry wanted a gas tax of 50 cents a gallon. http://www.techcentralstation.com/070604E.html
BTTT! Great response!
While On Committee, Kerry Missed 38 Of 49 Intelligence Committee Hearings
Well, he wasn't running for president then. Was he cycling, skiing, windsurfing, throwing a football around? Inquiring minds need to know!
Here's your answer -
Take a minute to email a paper or talk show when you hear one of Kerry's talking points that you want to rebut. If thousands of W supporters become keyboard troops it will begin to penetrate. Write to the paper's ombudsman as well as the editor. Let them know that their version of the news is not the only version.
Most of all, be proud to be a conservative. We have been virtually forced into the PC closet, and that has to stop.
PhilDragoo,Thanks for the ping. That is really good.
Have I ever said no? ;-) Hiya, Grampa -- MEGA PING!
No you haven't. However as we are teaching our grand kids, one should say please when one asks for something.:)
Now I say thank, you!
Thanks for the ping to this thread, "Grampa." I'll sure use the info. The campaign begins in earnest now.
Excellent opposition research.
Needs to be in the hands of every Republican.
Thanks for helping to get it out.
Here's a better one;
John Kerry: "I am Oz, the Great and Powerful. (Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.)"
People who served their full tour of duty with the Navy seldom if ever salute without a hat.
This jackass's pitiful salute (cross between a Black Panther and a Brownie Scout salute) is a bash against that Navy Tradition.
NO--you have NEVER said NO!!! :^)
Good post, Phil!
Thanks for the ping Grampa, I'm running late tonight!
BUMP this post and thread!
As they would say in "Wayne's World"...
GAME ON!!! (GAME ON!!!)
Bump and WOW!
While I thought it was stupid, and the jerk should realize that when you're the commander in chief, people report to YOU......
Hubby, having been in the military was really really disgusted.
