BERGER PAPERS BARED TRANSLATION DISASTER
NY POST ^ | July 29,2004 | By NILES LATHEM

Posted on 07/29/2004 8:49:22 PM PDT by Freesofar

In the latest twist to the document scandal, investigators said the revelation about translators was among several criticisms of America’s ability to deal with the looming al Qaeda threat contained in the “after action” memo on the millennium terror plot that is at the center of the Berger probe.

Officials said an appeal to hire more translators familiar with Arabic, Pashto and other key “counter-terrorism” languages at the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency was among 29 proposals to tighten security contained in the report.

The report written by former White House counter-terrorism chief Richard Clarke also warned of the presence of al Qaeda cells inside the United States. It urged increased surveillance of Arab students coming into the United States and called for increased security at U.S. ports and other points of entry, investigators said.

The Clinton administration is reported to have only adopted one of its proposals.

Government officials said the FBI had been conducting electronic surveillance of a mosque in Brooklyn frequented by Afghans in 1999 after developing information from the investigation of the U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa.

Sources said the FBI had “hours” of taped conversations between people associated with the unidentified mosque and suspected terrorist leaders

Could embarrassment over not having translators be the true motive or is this just more whitewash ?

29 recommendations . . . The Clinton administration is reported to have only adopted one of its proposals.

And yet Clarke tried to blame our President for the results of Slick Willy's incompetence.

I don't get it.

Well, I think this is just a small part of it.

The only item so far to come to light that would explain Berger's knowing willingness to commit a felony is that he may have leaked that we were observing a camp Osama frequented to the government of UAE - leading Osama to find out in short order and escape the potential trap.

Whats there not to get? Clinton usually hired people that he could easily compromise and that way control them. Reno is a classic example. He probably has something on Clark and said "hey we are all going down unless you play the game"
That is how he does business... it is his native tongue.

Question: Have these tapes been translated and if so did the 911 commission hear them.....

If so what did they say?

If not can we do a FOIA request to hear them?

Why let them enter the country in the first place!

Remember, Clarke didn't get the promotion he wanted and a very lucrative book deal was in the works if he slammed Bush. It was all part of RAT propaganda strategy leading up to Nov. One book after another, including Clinton's. The publishing world is infested with RATs. Not to mention Hollyweird and Michael Moore and now 'The Manchurian Candidate', morphed from an anticommunism film into anti-Bush. They're pulling out all the stops from now until the election. With Kerry heading their ticket, you can understand. Words can't describe how bad he is.

So the papers Berger purloined ( or 'inadvertently' stuffed in his pants) included the proposals kerry put in his speech tonight?

The real answer is ALWAYS the same........MONEY-BANKING-CONNECTIONS,.....

I think this might be a motivating factor:

"...was among 29 proposals to tighten security contained in the report. The Clinton administration is reported to have only adopted one of its proposals."

With that bit of info in mind, how in the hell did the 9/11 Commission come to the conclusion that the Clinton Administration was no more responsible for 9/11 than the Bush Administration. This boggles my mind.

Alamoudi's the guy who was caught transporting money from a Libyan fundamentalist group around; he's also one of the founders of the muslim group which 'certified' muslim clerics for the chaplain service in the US military, and the guy whose American Muslim Council organization gave Hillary a huge donation which she reported erronously as having come from the 'American Museum Council' or some such thing. Alamoudi's organization also helped fund Bilal and Ford, the wannabe-jihadists who tried to go to Afghanistan via China to fight the US.

Al Amoudi is also part of the Rock Creek Corp, the same company associated with John Kerry advisor and Nigerflap figure Ambassador Joseph Wilson. Wilson's consulting company is associated with al Amoudi's companies. Wilson was the guy whose wife sent him to Niger on behalf of the CIA; he lied that he found no evidence in Niger that Iraq sought uranium there, though in fact he did find a witness who said Iraq had been interested in a deal. Wilson's the one who claimed that security in Niger was too good and uranium couldn't be smuggled out... but Libya it turns out apparently got some of its uranium there recently.

TOP KERRY DONOR'S MAFIA PAL
A SCANDAL might be brewing in John Kerry's camp over revelations that his biggest donor, billionaire playboy Steve Bing, has close ties to a Mafia hitman.
Bing, who inherited a $600 million real estate fortune courtesy of his grandfather, Leo Bing, has amassed over $16 million for the Democrats. He has donated $8.1 million to groups that are creating and airing anti-George Bush TV ads, according to Variety.
Now, ABC News reports that one of Bing's close friends is Dominic Montemarano, a.k.a. Donnie Shacks, a New York-based Mafia hit man who did 12 years in prison on racketeering charges and is currently serving four years for domestic violence.

Government officials said the FBI had been conducting electronic surveillance of a mosque in Brooklyn frequented by Afghans in 1999 after developing information from the investigation of the U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa.

Sources said the FBI had “hours” of taped conversations between people associated with the unidentified mosque and suspected terrorist leaders.

But despite the potential intelligence value of the intercepted communications, stacks of tapes languished on the shelves at the FBI counter- terrorism center in downtown Manhattan because there were not enough translators.

Yet, we had no problem with having 10 Arabic translators for bill clinton's immediate disposal on the day after the OKC bombing.  Isn't that special.
