So given the virtually unanimous praise heaped upon her for her performances in Leon (AKA The Profesional), Beautiful Girls, Anywhere But Here and Garden State does that mean her political insight is highly developed?
Well at least she made a couple of good points.
"A lot of people confuse intelligence with wisdom. Those are not the same thing, the world is filled with smart people who are foolish. In fact, one of the things that make smart people foolish is their pride in their intelligence makes it impossible to believe that they can be wrong, and what can be more foolish than that?"
That rather neatly describes the "what we say and do is right no matter what" attitude of the current administration. Thanks! Can I quote this in other posts?
Oh, whoops! That's probably not what you meant to point out, is it? Though I do love the irony of your comment, both in terms of your political outlook and that of most on this board, who are clearly incapable of regarding their own opinions as anything but perfect and unchallengeable!

On topic, I don't think Portman comes across as the sharpest tool in the box, but then we already know that graduating from an Ivy League school doesn't necessarily mean one is intelligent, don't we? ;-)
I was thinking more of her work in the Star Wars movies never saw any of the other films so I do not have an opionion on those movies.
Hey, look on the bright side - - George W. Bush was overwhelmingly re-elected and on January 20th he'll be sworn in for another four whole years!! Think of all those judicial appointments! Sweeeeet......
