This statement is taken out of context, and when you read the rest of the quote (paraphrased from Lincoln) there really is no hay to made from this.
A proper rebuttal would be something along the lines of "Well, you're not on God's side either."

Which brings up the thing mentioned previously; did anyone get pictures of the 'Rat delegates tromping on the flags they we're previously waving at Thursdays "love-in"?

Kerry's statement along with Howard Dean saying the other day that people will someday become tired of voting for Godly principles and turn to the democratic party, can't be any more descriptive as where these people want to take us. Ironic because the very same things they want to accomplish such as inclusiveness and diversity for all walks of life can only be accomplished under a Godly authority.

...because you really, really, really, want power and glory.... discusting....." ...and dangerous:
Remember King Harod?:
"Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king's personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king's country.
So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God grew and multiplied."

What he said was "I don't want to claim God is on our side --
I want to claim that we're on God's side." What a putrid POS this clown is. I wonder which "side" of God is out there legislating for partial birth abortion (all the while receiving the Body of His Son during Mass).

No, I think the proper rebuttal would be something like "don't you guys call him 'Allah'?"

The better response to, "I don't want to claim that God is on our side." is to rephrase the position to emphasize, "I want to faithfully claim we are on God's side." and hopefully God will gracefully exclaim, "You are on my side!"

Oh but he did.. He said he has faith... He stressed faith and put it on his platform. Faith in what is the question.

Hey, John boy. If there is a God, you had better be afraid. Very afraid.

Actually that's pretty much what Abe Lincoln said in 1863. Last night Kerry was requoting Lincoln.

Was it Jefferson that said "I tremble in fear when I reflect that God is Just?"

While no one can know the mind of God, I have to imagine that even God was somewhat relieved by this statement.
