U.S. Church Sermons Being 'Monitored' for Anti-Homosexual Views

American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood and the National Education Association behind harrasment

WASHINGTON, July 30, 2004 (http://www.LifeSiteNews.com) -The head of the Christian Seniors Association (CSA) asked U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft to investigate reported harassment of churches in Kansas and Missouri.

CSA Executive Director James Lafferty said a report by the Associated Press and the website of a group calling itself The Mainstream Coalition says it has over 100 members who "monitor" sermons and worship at targeted churches.

Lafferty said he has delivered letters to Attorney General Ashcroft and to the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division asking that federal agents be dispatched to Kansas and Missouri to observe the coalition's activities against churches there.

"Churches in those states are being strong-armed and pushed around because of their beliefs," said Lafferty in a press release. "We want those religious citizens to get the protection they are promised in the Constitution. It is time somebody pushed back at the liberal bullies."

"This is harassment, pure and simple," he said. "Churches in Kansas and Missouri which oppose homosexual marriage go to the top of the coalition's target list for some 'monitoring.'"

The Mainstream Coalition calls itself a political watchdog, saying they monitor sermons for evidence of pastors endorsing specific political candidates -- which is against the law according to the Internal Revenue Service. In fact, the Mainstream Coalition's website reveals its leftist agenda of pro-abortion support, homosexual activism, and anti-prayer in schools, among others. Many of the members of the Mainstream Coalition are current or former members of the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood and the National Education Association.

"They don't want to monitor anything; they are there to intimidate pastors and worshippers." Lafferty said. "Christians shouldn't be forced to surrender any of their rights as citizens including the right to public worship and the right to express sincerely-held religious beliefs."

In Europe a Preacher was sentenced to prison for preaching against sodomy in his church. I think the same thing happened in Canada. Someone please help with links.

It's looking more like another Civil War will be waged in our land. Perhaps bloodier than the first.

The Anti-Christ Anti-Life Anti-Family Anti-American forces are gaining strength and will not stop till they are the only ones left. Them or us.

There are also leftist groups monitoring churches for any sign of conservative political activity. Liberal activity is fine with them. Conservative ones will make them ask the IRS to investigate.

Sodomy is satanic

June 23, 2003

The truth written in this editorial will be viewed as intolerant, hateful and a great disrupter of peace, by the worldly person. The Roe v. Wade of satanic sodomy of America will be dated June 26, 2003, “when Satan donned judicial robes and presided again over the most atrocious travesty of justice that ever took place and declared that now we not only have the right to murder the most innocent babies in the womb, but sodomize our youth and our country”. The worldly, view peace as the absence of conflict. Instead of seeking after truth and justice they try to eliminate war by eliminating everything worth fighting for. This counterfeit kind of peace is achieved by sacrificing any need or struggle for moral virtue; a perverse passivity of self-indulgence. Our Lord Jesus’ peace is the fruit of constant battle, the battle between our will and Gods will. The worldly flee from that fight and try to satisfy all their desires. They live life to the fullest in a worldly sense, yet inevitably this always leads to frustration and futility.

Sodomy and abortion are satanic sins that go beyond human depravity. They not only go against God’s law, they go against nature. Many will argue that there is a genetic and biochemical component to these aberrations. Yet there is never a genetic or biochemical component to sin. Sin is an act of the will! Because of original sin we all struggle with vice and sin; each of us has our cross to bear. Yet Our Lord Jesus has made it perfectly clear, “My Grace is sufficient for you”. “Sin is knocking at the door, yet you can be its master”. “Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect”.

What should our response be to those who are tormented by the temptation of sodomy or even enslaved in its perverse bondage? We must pray, fast and intercede to God for their deliverance; but never allow them to carry out this perverse act or fall into the abyss. Allowing sodomy or abortion is not an act of love or an aid to fallen humanity; it is abandonment. Let us as a nation, and individually, struggle and fight for virtue rather than capitulate to sin and vice for the sake of a false peace. The Prince of Peace came with His Presence to establish peace and virtue in our soul.

Another pinger. Looks worse and worse.

IM(not so)HO, people in a house of worship who are merely spying and infiltrating, with no sincere desire to worship, should be ejected. It's not a mall or a public street.

I doubt the Mainstream Coalition will monitor Je$$e Jackson and John Kerry when they campaign in liberal oriented churches.

The Mainstream Coalition members are the same ones who accuse GOP pollwatchers of intimidation when ineligible voters are challenged.

If this sort of oppression continues there will
be civil war (as if there isn't already) in America.
There are many people who have had enough of
homosexuals and their resentments.

On another thread (about the Swedish pastor Ake Green, who was sentenced to 2 months' hard time for preaching the bible), I warned that this was coming to the US as well. It would appear that it is already well on the way.

I have my doubts as to the number of folks who would really be willing to take the step that those who founded this nation did back in 1776. I hope that my perception is mistaken.

This group does not monitor black churches.

We need to just change the law and unshackle the churches to be able to JUST SPEAK.

The KS Attorney General has attempted to clarify what the IRS regulations really say instead what the Mainstream Coalition thinks is law.

What happened to "separation of church and state"? They want the church to stay out of the state's business but they want the state to step into the church's business. Hypocrites.
