Rich will deflect Kerry taxes, Bush says

By Bill Sammon
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Published August 1, 2004

CANTON, Ohio -- President Bush yesterday said Sen. John Kerry would fail in his attempt to raise taxes on rich Americans because their accountants would deflect the tax burden onto the middle class.

"He said he's only going to raise the tax on the so-called rich," Mr. Bush told thousands of supporters in Stark County, a crucial Ohio swing district, "but you know how the rich [are]: They've got accountants.

"That means you pay," he added. "That means your small business pays; it means the farmers and the ranchers pay. That's the wrong medicine for this economy, and we're not going to let him prescribe it."

excellent. perfect way to flip this back in their face, especially with Teresa not releasing her returns.

Anyone who has limo liberal friends/family members know the truth of this. They will speak in favor of Democrats and raising taxes, and then hide behind every tax shelter imaginable, and do everything they can to avoid paying a single cent of tax.

Kerry will raise taxes on everybody. Thats why he is keeping his plan a secret until he wins. He is running the most secretive campaign in history.

HOME RUN!

Edwards didn't pay something like $580,000 in FICA taxes one year by using a loophole.

Kerry every year "CHOOSES" to pay the lower tax in Boston. (You can check which rate to pay, a higher or lower one)

These people are frauds! The are in the ".2%" of the the richest people in America, the very people whom they claim should "PAY THEIR FARE SHARE", blah, blah, blah, and yet they don't!

The democrats said that 'trickle down economics' did not work, i.e., when we gave tax breaks to 'the rich', they did not trickle down to 'the poor'. What makes the democrats think that tax increases on 'the rich' will NOT trickle to 'the poor' (meaning us)?

I saw the headline for this and groaned--I thought the two-day streak of great campaigning was now lost in a stupid attempt at populism.

Now that I've read the article--brilliant! Turning it right back on the Heinz-Lovey-Kerrywards using the truth, not some focus-grouped hate the rich fiction.

Skewering the "tax only the top 2%" bunk with a single one-liner.

Great!

The first thing I thought of was Dean Wormer: "Double Secret Probation!"

I mean, it's an economic plan no one knows about until they're living under it!

This nation needs an education about how the "RICH" such as Teresa and Edwards are taxed.

I do not advocate higher taxes, rather an education as to how the "super" rich liberals are not subject to the taxes increases they demand.

These liberals seem to be reenacting "medieval" times.

I would also like to know why the government feels its necessary to give tax dollars to radical left political groups.

Thank you, GW, for bringing up Kerry's hidden scheme to raise taxes on the middle class. Soccer moms and the rest of us hard working Americans won't like this one bit.

When I first saw this last night I couldn't believe he'd think he'd get away with it for one minute. Where's the press on this? Do they think we're so stupid? Raising taxes is central to his scheme for a socialist paradise, and we all know TerAYsa won't be hit in the pocketbook, it'll be you and me.

If only W took to the next logical conclusion - elimination of taxes. Flat tax us or a fed sales tax (preferred) but end this income tax nightmare that is a slave collar around the American people that turns us into vassals of the state.

You mean of course the Double Secret Campaign....;)

I read that article and was stunned to see Robert Rubin was one of those suggesting Kerry couldn't announce his economic plan until after he won.

Is this what the dems are reduced to--a convention that robotically nominates someone who doesn't share their values, and a candidate from the party that "trusts the American people" or whatever, yet refuses to reveal its plans for leading?

How ironic--Kerry tried to bring down Nixon who had a "secret plan" for ending the war. And here he is, with a "secret plan" for ending the economy...
