Your point is well taken. Restaurants do enforce dress codes for the comfort of their patrons. In the very cramped quarters of an commercial airliner such a teeshirt, while appropriate for a wife swapper's party, may not be so acceptable in an airline that transports the general population.

If you haven't already, check out the reality show Airline on A&E. Most of the "problems" encountered by travelers are due to (1) poor time management on their part and (2) alcohol abuse. I have a new found respect for those who work at airports.

Oh I'm sure what you say is correct. Absolutely agree with you. It's not the airline. It's the unruly passengers. We get to the airport several hours ahead of time to avoid the long lines and...we would rather wait for our flight on the OTHER side of security as opposed to standing in line. At least you can shop, read and relax.

Yes, people go at the last minute and then get irritated and miserable taking it out on everyone else. The other thing is we check our bags and I carry a tiny purse and maybe a small tote for a book and snack and that's it!!! Less is much better.

We now try to wear slip on shoes with socks so we can step out of them quicker and put them back on quicker. I have quit wearing bracelets and things like that to avoid having to take off all of that at security. It's just not worth it.

As for dressing...casual is the key. More comfortable and should you need to act quickly and move quickly casual is best. However, I guess some can't distinguish between casual and just plain sloppy.

More people need to practice patience for one and they also need to practice a little kindness and plain ole manners as well. No one has respect for authority anymore. The Captain and the Air Crews are authority and they are in charge. They are there to make us as comfortable as possible but they should not have to put up with abuse from unruly people who have no respect for themselves much less for those around them.

Everyone should just get on the plane, take their seat, strap in and stop making such a silly nuisance of themselves. This T-shirt was worn no doubt to draw attention to the person. That is NOT OK when it is you against 300 plus other people who ALSO have rights.

Let's stop this nonsense of allowing " one person in the crowd" to disrupt what should be a nice experience by making it chaos for everyone else. It is not right and it is a dangerous situation. The passengers are jumpy anymore anyway and I personally would not want to make any kind of a scene on any plane that would get the dander up of the people around me. People are at the point where they have had enough and they are going to act as they are plain tired of those who always try to start trouble. One of these days the passengers are gonna get up and take care of business.

I wish everyone would just stop and think of the person next to them and show them the same consideration they would like to have. It's all getting out of hand and it's gonna be serious one day soon.
