V A N I T Y - Subversive activities on FR?
None | 08-01-04 | Trident/Delta

Posted on 08/01/2004 6:31:53 PM PDT by Trident/Delta

Fair Warning, This is a VANITY rant.

I have been watching (lurking), for quite a while. I have come to the conclusion that, since FR has almost assumed "icon" status as an alternative news outlet, there seems to have been an "organized" effort at using FR as a vehicle for subverting thought.

Most recently, there have been some interesting banter, usually between the same individuals, about how much better CNN has become and how FNC has degraded, and how "so and so" isn't watching FNC anymore because of.....(insert some bogus issue here).....

After you break the code, it is almost hysterical to watch.

The usual targets seem to be Fox News Channel, ANY gun post, and FR in general.

I would just caution and advise all of us old-timer, hard-corps Freepers, be aware that you may be the subject of manipulation on the part of the notorious "seminar callers" of Rush Limbaugh fame.

As a note of warning to the "opinion shapers" that think they are being clever on FR. I have been documenting chapter and verse and send it to the Mods regularly.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled threads........

Semper Fidelis

Nobodies opinions mold my thought without a great argument and facts aplenty.

Lemming I am not.

We interrupt this Fox News Alert to bring you this Fox news Alert:

John Kerry ordered a double with cheese at Wendy's the other day.

Yeah, we all notice it. We're not that easily manipulated, but perhaps some of the lurkers are. Perhaps we should speak up more.

I've noticed the same thing. I've dropped a dime on a few posters too.

OK, I'll bite. I like Fox News, especially Special Report, but they have absolutely got to get out of the habit of 23-hour-a-day reporting on missing wives/suspected husbands and celebrity trials.

I hope this inflammatory statement doesn't earn me a spot in your Special Report to the Moderators.

Why not name some names right here on the forum so we can be on our guard.?

Pssst! MSNBC rules! Fox News sacrifices republican babies to appease Murdock's bloodlust and donates to MoveOn.org.

FoxNews is the best of them all, but they spend way too much time on silly scandals (Scott Peterson, Kobe, Michael Jackson, etc., etc., etc.). Brit Hume is the greatest and John Gibson is right up there. But Greta's hour is mostly always a waste of time, and the Saturday morning routine is lame.

Is that subversive ("a vehicle for subverting thought")?

I'm not really sure what you are talking about.

But then again, as an 'international Freeper', I don't have access to all the news media you cite.

As a print journalist, I'm really more interested in what's in the papers any way. :-)
