New York Gov. George Pataki is not known as a fire-breathing conservative. So when he brings out the rhetorical big guns, it's a signal that it's safe for the GOP moderates to lock and load. From his CNN appearance:
PATAKI: Judy, I think Howard Dean is an embarrassment. I mean, he almost makes Michael Moore look objective in how he analyzes these situations, and the American people got to know him during the campaign and rejected him. The sad part is that his policies and his warped beliefs are having a significant impact on Senator Kerry's policies. Senator Kerry talked about being tough in the war on terror, but he essentially adopted the Dean line when he had to do it to get through at the Democratic primaries."
I'll bet that this is not the last we see of Howard Dean's statement.
Lieberman pretty much said the same thing about Dean on CNN on Sunday and no one picked it up.
Dean REALLY stepped in it yesterday. I'm wondering if the DNC put him up to it, or did he just go off on his own. At any rate, he certainly gave the Dems a black eye.
Ouch! YYEEEEEAAAAAARRRRRGH!!
Nutty as a fruitcake and voters know it. It's wonderful watching him and Kerry and the other loons lead the democrat party -- over the cliff.
Add Dean to the long list of DEM weirdos:
-- Al Sharpton
-- Al Gore
-- Hillary Clinton
-- Ralph Nader
-- Dennis Kucinich
-- Levy
-- Bob Kerrey
-- Nancy Pelosi
They make Bill Clinton seem normal
Funny, I have remarked since late last week that Thereza H-K makes Hilly seem like Patrick Henry.
Gore and Dean belong in their own category.
He's been there all along... neck deep in the sewerage covered with leeches pulling the boat through the feverswamp.
Atos
Along with Carter.
Thanks #8^D
add the majority of hollywood,
schroeder of colorado,
and soros
there.
He's not an embarrassment to the jackass party--no more than a child molester is an embarrassment to NAMBLA.
Exactly. In one interview Kerry actually described himself as in the antiwar camp, when he was running against Dean.
Now that he's running against Bush he's the biggest hawk there ever was.
This man is so phoney I can't stand it.
Brilliant statement.
Puts Kerry in a no-win with any response he gives.
1) He can defend Dean and look like (more of a) doofus.
2) He can kick Dean out of the top tier of his surrogates and alienate Dean which will bring with him a lot of Loony Leftists.... to Nader, best case for us.
I read that, yes, the Kerry campaign used him as their attack dog.
Even though Kerry knew, after getting his own briefings, that there were plans to attack the U.S.were real, he needed someone to say that Bush had not done enough and that it was all political.
Dean was his man to play the fool for Kerry's follies. Pretty sad, if you ask me.
This is why Kerry has a "dead cat" boost in the polls. Dean is one dumb Som-Be-atch
I don't think Patrick Henry was in any way was a liberal.
"Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death!"
Dean has to date, refused to provide his computerized list of grassroots supporters........I've heard that he will now provide Kerry the list for his own use. The list is almost exclusively the membership list over at DU.

Only if embarrassment is some code word for flaming a-hole.
DU is the perfect example, as is Howard Dean, of why would you want to belong to a club (party) that would accept them.
Not bad but another missed opportunity to point out that the "radicals" and "extremists" are driving the dem party. The RNC needs to drive this message home over and over ...
I refuse to watch cnn so I didn't see it. But Pataki said almost exactly the same thing to the Judge on Gibson's show on Fox.
Boy I bet Judy Woodruff is still drying her drawers.
What did Deano do yesterday?
Dean is a CLOWN......utter and complete.......I hope he keeps talkin', he can't possibly help Effingedkerrywards's political viability.
The GOP is locked and loaded. But unless we match the Dem 527s on the ground and the airways in OH, MI, WI, NV and FL, the election won't be pretty. We are being outspent 17:1 in the 527 race.
Right after Ridge's announcement of the terror level, Dean jumped to the media and said something like, this is a political ploy to take the attention off of the Kerry campaign. And a bunch of other stupid stuff, very Michael Moore-ish. Lies, lies, and more lies. Very transparent, too. He really ticked a lot of people, right AND left, off.
Heheheh.
Georgie, the nys buget is late for the 20th year in a row...and we're headed for a late-time record. Why aren't you in albany doing something?
I think Howard Dean and Michael Moore will provide some of the more memorable sound bites of the 2004 election cycle.
As a Southerner I found Dean's comment about Southerners needing to get over "guns, God (or is it god) , and gays" and join the rest of the nation very revealing of his and the Democrats philosophy. As a libertarian I don't own a gun, I do acknowledge God, and I have gay acquaintances who don't go out of their way to offend me.
During the 2000 Florida recount fiasco I wound up responding to Michael Moore on FR (believe it or not!). After several exchanges I found him to be beyond logical discourse. There was a recent article that labeled him as the Republicans secret weapon. I'm beginning to believe that assessment.
Oh I know, and I am not a Hilly fan. It's just that Theresa is such a whackjob that she made the prior-era whackjob look dignified.
Ouch. Kerry proves once again he has a supreme gift to surround himself with incompetent political hacks.
And we should not forget:
Ted (the alcoholic murderer) Kennedy
Nothing he can say can redeem that LIE.
I'm glad you said that here or I might not have known it. I have been very suspicious of Joe's rehabilitation after selling out his every principle to be Woodhead's VP pick.
LOL. And thats not saying much. dont know why but your statement just tickled my funny bone. The worlds largest collection of psycotics were all in Boston last week, its enough to make your hair stand on end isnt it?
He also presided over a caucus meeting for jewish delegates with more praise of the democrat party....
I called his office the next morning and told the staffer that it was a despicable thing to say given it was his team that wanted to disqualify our military votes in Florida. Ended my comments telling the staffer that LIEberman and Sharpton deserved each other.
Kerry will probably say nothing and hope this goes away; otherwise he will defend Dean...he has to. He can't afford any defections on the Left.
Glad I could make you laugh.
