Pure evil in Sudan
Washington Times ^ | August 02, 2004 | Nat Hentoff

Posted on 08/03/2004 4:02:04 PM PDT by Lonely Bull

The is the first of two columns on the genocide in Darfur, in the west of Sudan:

The news media can no longer be blamed for not bringing light to the world about the more than 30,000 black African Muslims murdered by the Arab Muslim Janjaweed in Darfur, Sudan. The world has also been told of nearly 2 million of the survivors having been removed from their homes, many huddled in remote camps where epidemic diseases add to the corpses. And there is no doubt that the government of Sudan arms and supports the Janjaweed.

--SNIP--

Of course this is genocide. It is also pure evil. Mr. Bush is not afraid of that word. Let him, right now — unlike Bill Clinton turning away from Rwanda — save lives in Darfur.

And the Religion of Peace goes on. Where are Linda Ronstadt, Don Hendley, and the rest of the Liberal scums on this issue.

The Answer is waiting for JFnK to release his PLAN for the world to Love us again.

The UN took an aggressive stance and discussed the situation. If things don't change soon they threaten to discuss the situation again in a month.

"I thought they were killing non-Muslim Africans..."

They have been for many years...Christians and animists in the south. This is the latest outrage by Muslims.

The genocide against the Christians was never reported as much as this one.

They're equal opportunity. They're killing Christians, animists, *and* Muslims.

Hentoff is one of the few liberal presstitutes that I have much respect for. He is liberal through and through, but he's intellectually honest about it at least.

Are we sure these are Muslims? I mean we arent just profiling Muslims here are we? These are actual Muslims causing this problem? gee Muslims dont cause problems in other parts of the world. Huh? They do? Gee: and here Terry Kerry has a group called the TIDES foundation that is helping them come here. Maybe the ones we get here will be the tame ones. Yeah in a pigs eye.

They are Arab Muslims killing non-Arab Muslims (as well as any non-Muslims they can find, but there are not very many in that particular area). I'm not sure we should get involved there, but I think we should pressure "respectable" Muslim states to get involved. The UN obviously doesn't care.

While the United Nations "deliberates" as more lives are lost, Pakistan, China and Russia — the latter two being members of the Security Council — are urging that Khartoum be given more time to comply with whatever resolution the United Nations passes.

I don't know about Pakistan but both Russia and China have big oil interests Sudan.

Egypt and Libya have been supporting (arming, training) rebel factions from the southern Sudan for a long time.

I think we should send military equipment to these folks so that they can defend themselves. It's the least we can do.

Maybe we can remove the soldiers from Germany and station them in the Sudan...

This killing has been going on since the slave trade was introduced into Sudan seveeral hundred years ago. The only currency the southern sudanese had to get trinkets etc from Europpeans was each other. Then the egyptian and other muslims moved in and took over sort of hiring sudanese to capture warring tribe's people to sell as slaves. The antislavery movement in the 19th cent tried to stop it. And they have all been warring ever since.
